Welcome to Keukenhof.
The name “Keukenhof” literally means: Kitchen Garden.
Its origins date back to the 15th century, when it served as a hunting ground and herb garden for Teylingen Castle.
In the 19th century, it was transformed into a beautiful landscape garden.
And finally, in 1949, a group of flower bulb growers envisioned it as a showcase for their industry.
This lead to the birth of Keukenhof as we know it today.
Keukenhof is home to a staggering 7 million flower bulbs.
They are planted each year in the fall.
And the flowers are in bloom from mid-March to mid-May.
Most people say that the best time to visit is somewhere in between mid-April and the end.
That is when the Dutch tulips are in bloom.
