In this video series we will look at how to convert a three wheeler auto rickshaw to electric. This part four video covers the motor installation and testing activities.
Hello Abj garage. My question is did you use any reduction ratio or directly coupled the Motor to the Crankshaft of the Rickshaw gearbox?
Dear!! We have coupled the brushless DC motor directly to the crankshaft after removing the piston and connecting rod. We have used the rickshaw gearbox and differential as it was!
great work .how to limit the starting current(inrush current) when motor first start?
Dear! We have used the original rickshaw's transmission as it is, so we start the motor with gearbox on neutral, there is no load on the motor when starting and as a result there is no exaggerated inrush current observed. We have not use additional current limiter. Thank you very much!!
Hii great video 👌🏾
Did u make the dc motor rotates the other one ? For less current needed

How to convert eletrick auto
Plse make 1 video sir
Do you change the fuel engine to electric. I have Piaggio bajeaj and i need change to electric and how mach cost.
We haven't started commercial conversion yet! This one is actually done for research.
Great project sir .. please what is the power rating of the motor you are using?
On this conversion the motor that was planned to be used was 3kW motor. But due to unavilability of the 3kW motor, we decided to keep the gearbox and used a 60V brushless DC motor, the power is 1.2kW, Maximum speed is 3000 rpm, and efficiency of 90%.
Okay .thank you ..but if I may ask does that mean if you got the 3kw motor , you would have taken out the clutch and manual transmission?

hi good day! can you tell me how many wattage is the electric motor? and also, the specs of the batterry. i m from the Philippines. thank you
Thank you very much dear! It's very good to have you here! On this conversion the motor used is a 60V brushless DC motor, the power is 1.2kW, Maximum speed is 3000 rpm, and efficiency of 90%. We have used five 70 AH batteries to drive the three wheeler.
top speed on the road please??
Where availabal this convertion kit, what is the price, i am from sri lanka
And sir did you keep the clutch?
Yes! The clutch and the manual gearbox are all re used.
Did you use the gears or no?
Yes! we have used the previous gearbox that came with the rickshaw!!
What is the Kw rating of the motor?
The motor was actually a 60V brushless DC motor, the power is 1.2kW, Maximum speed is 3000 rpm, and efficiency of 90%. It was actually donated to us and therefore I am not sure about the current price and where to buy one. This one is removed from an electric three wheeler axle.
Does it have regenerativ braking?
NO it doesn't have! This is a simple conversion done to demonstrate conversion to electric.
Good job!!
Thank you!
ന നായിരിക്കുന്നു ഇത് എവിടെയാണ് ഒന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തരാമോ
Ta chingon muy buena idea
What cost and milage power
Great work, what's the top speed, and torque?
The conversion was designed to run at top speed of 50k/hr with 3kw motor!
What is your location
वाहन किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे में कितना तेज़ है
What about battery cost and life
Battery life is actually dependent on the way it is discharged, if severe load is put on the rickshaw, it might last about two years, if taken care of greatly, it could last about five years.
Where did you buy motor??
Alibaba
Actually it came from South Korea. A colleague of ours brought it.
may i know the specs of the electric motor?
The motor was actually a 60V brushless DC motor, the power is 1.2kW, Maximum speed is 3000 rpm, and efficiency of 90%. the designed and proposed motor was 3kw, but we couldn't find that one and we decided to go for 1.2kw.
speed??
With the current configuration it was driven at maximum speed of 50 km/hr.
@@TheAbJGarage thats good speed for passenger business around city areas. i recommend.
I have some inquiries
I want to know the components of an electrical circuit
And I want to complete the previous video and complete the rest of the group
Kitna khrcha aata hai
The conversion kit was actually a donation to us for research purposes.

Have you tried to make this conversion to electric into a business? I want to talk about that.
How do I contact you? Can you send me your phone number and emails?
Haven't really! We made this only for demonstration purposes and to make further study on it.
