- Please subscribe?? Watch how I made these awesome butterflies in this time lapse video containing 40+GB of HD footage, where I constructed and reduced a polymer clay butterfly wing cane. This video is a visual guide for making these for those of you who wish to make some for yourself. Polymer clay is a oven bake clay that never dries out and hardens when you bake it. You can then sand, tool, drill, and polish it after its baked. It comes in many colors and brand, all which can be mixed together.
I've been thinking about the butterfly cane for some time now and always thought it to be a real challenging thing to do.. turns out it was not so bad! For a first try, I think these butterflies turned out awesome! How about you?
Please like this video it would mean so much to me.. and maybe share it too? It took me almost 5 days to edit this video lol, but well worth it as I think this is one of my best videos yet... It would be so awesome if my very awesome friends on Facebook and Google+ helped me out by sharing this video with their awesome friends too?

Butterflies for everyone! Do you mind passing this video along to all your friends? because the more butterflies there are in this world, the more rainbows they shall fart. true story... seriously tho, I hope you enjoy this video.
I can't wait to try this! Do you have a video on blending?
the more they shall fart rainbows... YAYYYYY

+Polymer Clay Artist What an awesome video!!
What a great cane! :) Very beautiful butterfly will get! A wonderful lesson!
Irina Ivanitskaya Thank you I appreciate it!
Excellent! Well thought out. Thank you for sharing.
Along with this being an awesome video (pause button and the "slow down" feature on all youtube videos aid in getting a better understanding of the process he went through), what I LOVED is how HONEST you were about how when you get to a certain point in cane making, one panics....no matter how experienced you are. The reducing part in particular....I love that you verbalized that. Cane making is never the exact same process twice, it requires flexibility, patience, the ability to keep in mind the end result and the willingness to risk doing things that MAY not work in the end. But when it does......ohhhhh YES! Thank you for this video!
Beautiful butterfly, great video. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! These are beautiful! 👍
Thank you! I have watched many cane tutorials but no one ever explains the steps this thoroughly. It is a beautiful design. I hope you continue to make tutorials. You are an excellent teacher.
Excellently portrayed! Bravo! Thanks! I'm gonna try it out tonight.
This was super cool!!! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful work! I enjoyed watching this video!
Beautifully executed!!!
Excellent video! Love all the details you gave!
I work with Polymer Clay and have an Etsy shop myself and often need these tutorials to learn new thins. But I must say out of all the tutorial videos out there, ya know the fancy dancy ones, I absolutely love yours. I love the fact that you leave in the small bits of knowledge and explain everything that you're doing. I had no idea what a "Skinner blend" was and I've worked with Polymer Clay for several months now >.> I know there is so much more to learn with this medium as well as many others. Thank you sir! :D
Pure genius, patience, and Passion in your work.

Fabulous...most realistic butterfly I've ever seen. What a painstakingly beautiful process to get the blend over the whole wing instead of each piece. Brilliant! Thanks a bunch; I know the amount of time it took to edit this was immense.

Went to work, kind of had to - boss is out of town on holiday. She is totally amazing & she really needed/deserved a week away, so I was happy to fill in for her.

I really enjoy working with polymer clay and recently I was baking cookies in tubes and wondered if the cane application would work for cookie dough so I used this video to make butterfly wing cookies I made a whole tube I can freeze and bake whenever I want.
