@Willy OAM it seems to me, an armchair, that RU found a way to force UKR to decisive (tactical level) attacking actions, to force UKR to stay fixed to the area - within UKR flexibility of being dispersed and not occupying visible easy targets, but nevertheless being fixed to the terrain and subjected to expected RU firepower saturation.
Why fixed UKR? From RU perspective: "I'm gonna chop a slice of land with two pronged sausages, you, my ''dear'' enemy can either leave it at that and retreat to the next shortened (straightened) line, or counterattack with utmost speed into the expected (preplanned fire) areas."
My 2 cents here are that these sausages are fairly small and can be covered with a fire box.
How effective is UKR (tactical level) closing in, how effective is its suppression of RU fire positions (what are their methods? If arty is the queen of war mortar is surely the king, while aviation is a weird but deadly Hitchcockian uncle) and how effective is RU firepower support in preventing UKR closing it - I don't know.
But again my (unfounded on data/reality) opinion is that after initial RU tactical surprise initiative (concentration of manpower and materiel) and fast burning through the front, it seems that they forced UKR to come out of the cover and into the open.
Like in a more larger operational, then scaled back to tactical, push in the summer of 2023.
RU: "If you ain't concentrating for a counterattack and you ain't going out of your cover to stop me, I'm gonna take this slice. So it's up to you."
    Maybe.
Plus you are one of the rare professionals who actually spoke about tactical finesses of your trade. Majority of us knows nothing about it and subsequently we enable various manipulations, often done by the very professionals who are deceiving us, if not lying.

Always found the hype around weapon system deliveries particularly odd. When a lot of artillery and MLRS systems were delivered to Ukraine, they lacked sufficient armor assets. As those artillery and MLRS systems became depleted, as well as their air force being bloodied and forced well away from the frontlines, Ukraine received a lot of armor assets, and a trifle few mine clearing vehicles which were all destroyed almost immediately during their catastrophe of a summer offensive.
Now those armor assets are back to being depleted to the point where rounding up sufficient numbers for an offensive, would mean pulling from everywhere else in order to achieve this, and still be found lacking. Their deficits now currently stand at insufficient artillery/MLRS, insufficient air defense, insufficient/non-existent close air support, insufficient armor, and we're expecting F-16s now to somehow move the needle in their favor at all? lol The people who believe this are incredibly detached from reality. All of the above issues are only getting worse, not better. I've been saying this since the beginning that attempting to repeatedly rebuild Ukraine's armyr as it sits in an active conflict with an adversary that has escalation dominance, is doomed to fail and only accomplish the depopulation of Ukraine.
Their deficit woes continue to worsen, and we simply are not making things in enough quantities to do anymore than slow down the depletion, yet it continues unabated. The only area where Ukraine seems to be doing fine, just happens to be its drone forces, which are continually losing effectiveness despite a seemingly endless supply of them, which has been their only saving grace because if that runs out, expect the pace of things to quicken for the Russians. Its the only part of the Ukrainian defense thats giving them pause and operating strictly under their electronic warfare and anti-air bubbles.

@@120mmsmoothbore2 mass infusions make for easy targets, and then there's the logistical constraints that physically limit what can be sent as well. But at the end of the day, the tanks are secondary to the greater issues of artillery and air superiority. If you can't suppress enemy artillery and the enemy air force, armor will just be more fodder. Chewed up and destroyed with very little to show for it.
And sure we have a lot of f-16s - and no suitable pilots to put into them. Instead, most of the F-16s will come from European nations, who will do so 'graciously' while upgrading to F-35s to replace them. The idea of rebuilding whole sections of the Ukrainian military during a war, is just absurd.
They will never be able to reach a point where their capabilities are even close to being where they need to be again. The beginning of the war when western arsenals were dumped into the country was their one and only shot, and they blew it on sparsely manned lines in the north for territory that was not strategically important. Failing to destroy the Russian military at Kherson in the south when they withdrew, and putting the nail in their own coffin later the next year in the summer, charging ahead with their second offensive into dense minefields, against layered and hardened defenses with artillery advantage and air superiority, who also had a numerical advantage. They're finished, and nothing we send will move that needle into a better spot for them now.

the wonder weapons come, after all the hype, they all disappoint eventually. excalibur guided artillery rounds went from being highly accurate down to 10% or something due to gps spoofing/jamming. they cost a lot, and take some setup time, so ukraine chooses to not use them often anymore. the standard himars we hear nothing about anymore. the abrams? how many are confirmed gone, 6? and thats from 31? now they're kept away from the front. russia has retrieved an intact guidance system from an atacms, with video evidence of it being inspected by a technician. we will see atacms start failing more eventually. nothing is instant. but this is a modern war, with obscene amounts of money and R&D cat and mouse. the f16 is rad, but russia has modern air defense, and long range intercept missiles. F16s will be targeted at airbases, though i think we may see nato neighbor storage, then fly in, land, fuel up, probably arm up in ukraine, for as little time as possible, take off from ukraine, launch attacks, land back in ukraine, then fuel up and boogie out. not saying definitely, because that would be as close to a direct nato airstrike as possible, o

Allowing Ukraine long range ATACMs etc infinitely compounds the opportunity for a misread or misidentified incoming nuclear strike. That is reality. Mistake or not, the nukes will fly and the results will be catastrophic. That is why you have to ask yourself is Ukraine worth losing everything you know and love over? If people understood and factored in the amount of US fkery and baldfaced hypocrisy and lies at play, 99% of people would say FK Ukraine FK NATO and FK the US and UK too for that matter.
I had to laugh when New York put out a video about how to 'survive' a nuclear strike. It was akin to what you'd do during an earthquake quake.. lol.. you'd either be incinerated or die a torturous death from radiation.. there is no surviving.

You still listen to that shill?
Pick up anything from 2 years ago.
      It won't have altered.

Scott is a man of integrity, yet his vision is into potential futures beyond what most call horizon. That's why he might be "wrong" in something simply because another branch of futures is picked by the world
On the other hand, nothing prevents the world from picking the one exact future Scott describes, it is among possible

Ritter was banned for a rant deemed hate speech.
Ritter was in his element, like a musician in a zone he described Ukrainians with pure vile.
CZcams was perfectly right in banning him.
You can find that clip floating around somewhere.
Generally his "analysis" is nothing but propaganda.

If you use your air-defenses to protect the high and mighty in the capital instead of the troops at the front you loose the war. Remember the first days of the "Big Offensive" when the Leopards drove unprotected into the minefields to picked up by drones and helicopters? Even Denys the sycophant screamed "where is the air defense, where are the electronic countermeasures?!" In Kiev, thats where the Gepards and Patriots and IRIS systems and the electronics. And so there was no "Big Counteroffensive" never was intended to be as this war pours billions into the poorest country o f Europe up to grab for all the Generals (Discord Leak) and Politicians (Panama Papers. Discord Leak) and Oligarchs.
Stop this farce, Ukraine is sold to Blackrock and thats the only reasons why the West keeps supporting this corrupt mess.
Anybody noticed: Russia cleaned out a lot of corruption in this war Ukraine increased it. Maybe we are also morally betting on the wrong horse.
