  • Bird Proofing is a skill. If you don't know exactly what you are doing, leave it to professional pest controllers to do it. If you leave one gap, the pigeons will find it, and you will be back to square one, infested by feral pigeons!
    Feral pigeons and seagulls are among some of the most prevalent bird pests in the UK. Other problematic pests in need of effective bird control include magpies, sparrows, crows, and jackdaws - this list of birds, classed as pest species, is always changing due to government rules and laws being constantly updated, so always feel free to ask us for up to date information.

    Great job. I once rented an apartment that had netting over the balcony, but there were gaps all over the place. This seemed to make the pigeon problem much worse because I guess, from the pigeon's perspective, the netting protected them from predators while they were on the balcony. So they were in and out all day, crapping everywhere, making nests, laying eggs, partying.

      If you leave a chink in the armour they will be back in for sure!

    I actually live here in one of the maisonettes by those garages, we’re massively struggling with pigeons but our balcony sticks out so can you recommend what to do for us?

      There are many different solutions to pigeons. Every job is different. Netting is always a great way to do it and there aren’t many places a good netting expert can’t net.
      There are also gels and many other methods.

      They are special fixings. There is a steel cable that passes through the net and through the eyes of the fixings.

    Are feral pigeons nests protected if they're sitting on eggs?

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  Před 3 měsíci

      @kevinn4388 no. But the eggs and chicks must be humanely dispatched.

      @@PestInterceptors I just felt sorry for pigeon mother. She was looking at you from that roof.
      Owners of the balcony should either not allow nest to be built or wait until small pigeons grow and leave. I myself have a battle with same couple of pigeons for few years now. They have babies few times a year. Sometimes they are persistent with building the nest and fast to lay the eggs that I have no option than to just leave them. Currently babies are born and hope in a month time I will be free of them. Cleaning balcony daily but I made a decision now that this is the last time and I will put up the net. That is why I was looking at your video. Good job!

      @@vi9919 a wise move.
      Feral pigeons are often called “flying rats” because pigeons carry many many diseases.

    I've seen them make holes in those nets millions of times( searching for nest areas) and worst of all they get stuck inside, panick, and don't know how to get out, and if there's no one at home for days they can die, so nope, this is not good at all

    • @PestInterceptors
      @PestInterceptors  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @ninnellivrik we only use quality products. If fitted correctly it will last for many years.
      Birds only get problems when the net is badly fitted.
      We think you may be over exaggerating the holes in nest you’ve seen. A million 🤔 Maybe not 🤷‍♂️

      @@PestInterceptors I think the net should have gone in front of the banister. To prevent pigeons from landing at the nest.

      @@viqtorione I think it is. If it’s not it would only be if the ledge was under a certain diameter that the pigeons can’t get to stand on.

      Not very good for the cat or the owner of said cat when they are petting the said cat. Do you have any idea how many disease’s feral pigeons carry? There’s a good reason pigeons are called “flying rats”.
