The instrument is called OUD or Barbat, a persian instrument whiche widely used all across middle east from turkey to arab countries
Warm and touchy-feely music like lovely warm people of the southern Iran with their sweet dialects. In fact the people of south in each country are the warmest ones as the weather is warmer relatively.

You are right the letter KH is pronounced the same in some european languages including Dutch and the letter GH, as in SadeGHi, is pronounced like the letter R is pronounced in French!
