Messinho is just as good as Yamal in terms of skills but i honestly think he'smore attack-minded. Real Madrid have equally good players in each position, but there was a report that barca may not go for Messinho because of Yamal (who is the same age) plays in that position and there is concern that one may stiffle the other one's career. The elephant in the room is that Cubarsi's form has declined. That's because he is burned out. He is not used to such work load.
Because we do not have a LW, Cancelo has to cover the entire LW. You cannot get both attack and defense from Cancelo - that will be too much. Because of Cancelo's deficit in defense, Cubarsi has to work extra hard. For his age, that's a little too much.
The solution is either to get Araujo play on the left and have Cubarsi play in the middle, or get Cancelo at RB and have Kounde pair with Araujo. Curbasi can come up as a sub until he gets used to that kind of work load.
Somebody gets it. The problem is (and I loved Xavi as a player)Xavi doesn't.

Two things Barca are getting wrongly
1. We target big named players all in the name of experience. So we hunt for players who are almost at the end of their career.
2. We seem to have soft spot for players who just claim they love Barca. We go after them just because they come out to say they would love to play for Barca.
What Barca needs to know and do is that
1. Identify our current problems: our problems are that we are financially unhealthy, we cannot buy superstars, mentality of our players is poor, we suffer too many injuries, we lack intensity and the players who can help us in the modern game, over reliance on Barca DNA in everything we do without acknowledging that modern football has evolved.
2. Understand that we need to rebuild the team. We need to rebuild modestly, rather than thinking we are at the top yet.
3. Identify the key positions and profiles we need to rebuild the team. Every Barca fan knows that the key position Barca needs is DM, LW. If our money can help us sign even one of these, that’s what we have to focus on now, and stop looking at positions that are not priorities. One at a time.
4. Focus on youngsters: the old players who come in disguised as free agents are the ones killing our wage bill. Barca shouldn’t fall for just anybody in the name free agent
5. Target and engage players ahead of time. Do not wait for the summer transfer market to be very close before we engage players. If we had done that, we could have gotten Nico, Zubi, Leao etc very cheap or even free. This strategy is what Madrid is using now. As of today, Madrid is targeting Arnold and Davies for free transfer in 2025. That is smartness. We can do better
Finally, Barca needs a pacy, dribbler, strong, and efficient left winger. The best on the market today are Nico and Leao. Barca needs replacement for Lewandowski, a ball playing striker and the best profile in the market now is Isak (gives you Kane vibes). Barca needs a strong, fast, tall DM like Yaya Toure and the best candidate is Onana (if you want a bit of Busquets, then the closest profile is Zubi).
6. Barca should also look at offloading many of the players. They are just adding to the clubs liabilities
Signing new players is one thing
Getting them to play as one solid unit is just another and that is where Xavi the coach is grossly deficient. His inability to give this squad to play as a team is where our major problem lies.
I am not excited about any incoming player as long as Xavi keeps doing the sane damn thing and expecting a different result.
We can go ahead and sign Mbappe or anyone other high profile player it does not change a thing.

I'm not even sure a double pivot works with De Jong and Kimmich, because they've both traditionally played the same role in a double pivot. Aside from that, it'd make me shake my head if we railed against Koeman wanting to use a double pivot, only for Xavi of all people to use it years later.

Barca boy, you know the problem with spending such amounts of money on zubimendi, it's that he would not like betray his boy hood club by just agreeing to a contract with Barcelona when his release clause is paid. He would want the club to negotiate a transfer for him, so that his boy hood club can get way more than 60 million for him same with Nico Williams as well. Look at what happened with dembele for example, he was worth more than 50 mil but he just decided to turn his back to us and it hurt because we couldn't even get more for him

I am gonna be very honest all the people blaming Xavi for yesterday’s loss are blind to the fact that our tactics were amazing. We created double the chances and shots on goal and it’s sad that our players didn’t take advantage of them. Ppl need to think rationally and not with your emotions.

@@Leoford31 my brother in Christ araujo might have made mistakes but he is literally one of the best 1on1 defenders in the world… lewa has been in decent for the second half of the season and drags defenders with him which is something non of our other 2 strikers can. Roque is lacking experience and guiu is probs not good enough. The fact is YOU aren’t in the training sessions day in day out watching these players and their condition nor do you know for a fact if another player we have instead of lewa would make a difference you are using your emotions as justification for something you don’t understand and neither do I because neither of us is a coach nor did we ever compete.

Xavi is more of a winger than an interior midfield. Bring him and Nico Williams and the left side is sorted. They can compete with each other and they are both available for multiple positions.
