    Once there was a civilization,
    much like ours,
    but with a greater intelligence,
    greater powers,
and a greater capacity for good.
    In one tragic moment,
    that world was destroyed,
    but there was one survivor.
Because of the wisdom and compassion of Jor-El,
because he knew the human race had the capacity for goodness,
he sent us his only son.
    His name, is Kal-El...
    ...He will call himself,
    Clark Kent...
...But the world will know him,
    as Superman!
    This year,
    Superman brings you,
    the gift of flight.

One of the greatest movie trailers of all time! Why can't movie trailers nowadays be as good as this? Back then, all trailers were iconic and unique to themselves. Nowadays, in trailers they keep cutting to a black screen every five seconds, having that cliché where the trailer begins with a rumbling sound, etc. That just shows the lack of creativity in movie trailers and sadly most movies today. Next time you're in a theater watching previews, look for the frequent cuts to black, or some of the same sounds I mentioned. Bottom line is, movie trailers these days can't match trailers made back then; phenomenal trailer!

Garren Lazar 100% agree. movies now just have trailers that show you 30% of the movie before it's even out and just take all the high points/jokes/fight scenes. typically the story is lacking anymore. money might have been important then to, but now it's the only focus not story telling.
