    Great video! I have the same boat and bought everything to make this. You should patent that. I also watched the lowrance bracket video! Man your pretty good at this. I bet you could open a shop up even part time and make some decent cash. Very clean and sleek look! I was wondering if you know the dimensions of the wood just to make it a little easier?

    Thanks, it works great for me. Just a tip. Make sure you don’t cut the wood the exact size of your door because if you have the drip rail on the deck, when you close it , it won’t shut.. I think I went like an inch or so smaller on all four sides of my lid so it would not hit the drip rail

    Great job! How did you screw the board to the bracket on the door?

    Where did you get the clipboard clips? I think these clips are key for max storage.

    Thanks for the kind words. My board is 11 3/4 x 20 1/4. You need to leave a little space around the edges for your drip rails

  • @northcarolinabassin7643

    What are the hooks holding your soft plastics??

    The water store
    The board I used was just a piece of pine I got from lowes. You can get it from Home Depot or whatever store you have where you live. It was a 1 inch price of pine by whatever width and length you need for your setup. I got what’s called #2 pine which when you look at it you can see some knots in it, but when you paint it you can’t see them and it’s cheap

    That is too cool. What's the name of the clips?

  • @martyepperly5803
    @martyepperly5803 Před 6 lety +1

    I think this was a great idea, but for me it didn't work well. I used 3/8" plywood with several coats of spar varnish. I got the same clipboard clips and the installation went off without a hitch. After stocking the clips as shown on the video, I found the hatch doors to be considerably heavier and not easily opened due to the added weight. I also found that the clips did not provide adequate grip and bags would slide out of them. I ultimately removed the system and I think I might make 20 clipboards with th clips ;)

    Sorry to hear this didn’t work out for you. I do agree it does make my doors heavier. I really haven’t had any problems with my clips holding the bags though. So I don’t know how to explain that
