Super Earth. Limited budget for reinforcements. Limitless budget for smiting possible traitors.
@royalistic7929 oh that's because the orbital budget comes out of the individual helldivers fund vs the Ministry of Truth fund against treason!
Named a traitor, still finish up the mission, a true helldiver
@@Alenthas His Traitor status got cleared the moment the objective was completed. Super Earth is many things, I just didn't expect smart to be one of them.
@@leetman102 A traitor may be a traitor. But when a traitor pledges their life to your cause and uses your attempts to pummel them to kill *your own* enemies. Are they really such as their label says they are?
@@ConfusedGuy101 This is what Cyborg or Automaton would Say. Watch your mouth
They can only afford one orbital strike every 3 minutes. But as soon as I think I'm a traitor they'll bomb me twice a second until I die
They be buying those orbital strikes from your payload cause they about to exterminate you
It's very in lore, when you get reinforcement notifications it tells you that your budget has been expanded. So the cooldowns that you as a helldiver experience is purely a budgetary limitation. However they cannot allow traitors, so there is no budget restriction.
The cooldown of 3 minutes between player strategem request is not because the weapons need cooling down or reloading. During that 3 minutes "cooldown" they are just tasked and busy with shooting at nearby traitors.
Imagine shooting on a "traitor" but can't just shoot out the hives lmao
All I hear is "Im a traitor, Im a traitor, Im a traitor, Im a traitor"
But of course, the traitor is carrying a bag of holding's worth of stratagem beacons so the destroyer always knows where they are.
This should be an achievement. "Treacherous bombardment: kill 50 enemies with orbital strikes while being marked as a traitor"

@@wildfire9280 Only through treason can the limits of our loyalty be tested and this hell divers full sends this.
The person leaving the mission was the true traitor , so many people just leave like that makes helldive difficulty harder than it should
I find it more often than not it’s not the person leaving but their game crashing
I did that once back when I was starting out because I didn't realize the countdown started when I got in and thought it just happened automatically so I didn't want to get left behind. Ended up leaving two other people behind because they were too far from the extraction point. After that I was kicked from the group, and frankly, I don't blame them. It taught me a lesson, and I'll never make that mistake again.
EDIT: I interpreted leaving as in getting in the Pelican. Straight up just abandoning someone is absolute villany, not to mention stupid especially if it's near the end of the mission since everyone gets the same rewards. I had someone quit on me during EXTRACTION in a HELLDIVE, on the LAST MISSION OF THE OPERATION. We had been a great duo that entire time but then my game bugged out and I was killed, but I wasn't dead. It was really weird. They kept spamming the reinforcement thing to no avail, because I could not move or do anything. There were only three minutes left before extraction would happen automatically and then we could just fail to extract but succeed on the mission. She left though. I just waited until I got the rewards, but I was really bummed she just up and left. Not because I felt betrayed, I kind of understand it... but like... it's just a bummer she missed out on all the experience and medals.
She willingly labeled herself a traitor so that she may finish the mission. History may forget her, but what she did will not be undone.
Now we need two junior divers to grossly misinterpret her vision and fuck it all up, and the picture is complete.
A traitor!! A hero yes, but also a traitor! But also a hero, but mostly a traitor! Treason of the highest degree done for the most patriotic reasons! damn that's going to be a complicated trial, good thing it'll be posthumous.
This is EXACTLY what I do on Eradicate missions when I'm last alive and we have no hope in hell of getting the numbers up. Free Artillery that thins the herd. Longest run was 3 minutes 42 seconds. Absolutely effective.

I didn't think Helldivers was known for hyper realism. Learn something new every day I guess.
I like to imagine the 380 has a cooldown because it’s only your ship shooting at you whereas when you’re a traitor all 4 ships are trying to kill you and are staggering their bombardments accordingly
Ok, so let me make sure I’m getting this right.
(Long post ahead; read more at your own risk!)
This player deliberately went outside the mission area long enough to be branded a traitor.
Helldivers upon being convicted of treason will immediately be targeted by orbital artillery strikes, which this player weaponizes to get the required kill count for the mission.
The aforementioned orbital barrage will not relent until the traitor dies, which is why the player accepts their fate upon mission completion, even going out with the “hug” emote. Sure enough, all the bugs at the LZ, including the Bile Titan and the Charger, are torn apart by the last of the artillery barrage just before the squad respawns.
The player didn’t bother fighting the bugs because: 1. They’re being bombarded by the artillery, 2. That same artillery is killing the bugs anyway, and 3. There’s a Charger right on their ass, and even under normal circumstances it can be difficult to evade them.
At around 0:43 the player walks right past a couple of resupply boxes while they’re completely out of stims. Fortunately, they were wearing a supply backpack and were able to replenish their stims anyway. I don’t blame them for missing the resupply boxes, though, as this is not the best situation to look for little miscellaneous things lying around. In fact, I only noticed them upon rewatching this video, so I would’ve definitely missed them too.
The player also gathered the samples on the map and positioned themself at the Pelican landing site so their teammates can pick it up after they died.
There’s only 4 reinforcements left, just enough to respawn the entire squad once the player dies so that everyone who stuck around at this point can extract. Using any of the reinforcements before mission completion in this case would just be a waste, as they’re going to be shredded by either the artillery or by the sea of bugs that flooded into the area.
Even after Pelican lands, the squad isn’t out of the woods just yet, as there are still a bunch of bugs left. The player positions themself at the high ground to ensure their teammates grab the dropped samples and safely board. They also deploy a Tesla tower to help clear the way for their teammates. There’s still one extra reinforcement left, so if that other player didn’t leave they could’ve had the chance to extract as well.
Once both teammates have boarded, the player then dives into the shuttle. Literally - they ended up clipping through the roof to get on board. I didn’t even think such a move was even possible - I may have to try that myself should the situation arise.
It should also be noted that this mission was played on Helldive difficulty, if that difficulty icon on the top-right corner of the HUD is any indication.
I’ve seen many Helldivers 2 clips where one player comes in clutch, but this one could possibly be one of the greatest clutches of all time. I hope one day I could reach a skill level that’s half as good as this true patriot.
The only thing you got wrong is the tesla tower. I threw it there hoping it would zap my teammates because funny arc friendly fire

The line between a traitor and a loyalist is paper thin. Sometimes you need to pretent to cross this line, if it benefits democracy.
Liberty is more important!
I've been saying, since the game began now, that traitor running the exterminate missions is the best way to deal with the bullshit. I'm glad someone finally has evidence since I'm too lazy. 100/10 would, and will, traitor run again.

Treacherous Shrine differs from other types of stratagems in that it doesn't call down support on a location using a stratagem code.
