I Tried Beating Every Carnival Game

- Every year, the Red River Valley Fair comes to Fargo, North Dakota and literally everybody in the entire state goes to it. I don't get the hype. This year, I wanted to try to beat every carnival game that they had. This was such a foolish idea...

I pray this video going viral so you make your money back
Hey, please look into that skateboarding game you used a screenshot from cause you unlocked a memory bro
but can i have that bob ross though? lol
Please make more merch in black! I would love to wear it at work
Scott agreeing with every worker there while they relentlessly antagonize him is incredible to watch
It's too good LOL
It brought back memories for me - the carnies purposely antagonize you to throw you off your game. & it works! 😭😒 lol
the true midwestern way
I know, right?! I just commented on how much I enjoyed his engagement with all of them as well! It made the video so much more fun!!
I wouldn't call that "antagonizing" him. It's just banter which is why he took it sportingly, friendly banter is very common in sports/competition (this is somewhat in that genre)
Just 30 minutes of Scott being relentlessly mocked by carnies.

The baseball woman walking over to the basketball game just to roast Scott was the most authentically carny thing
The “call the police, you’ve been robbed” and the “you can’t be a redneck” guys are honest to god STARS. The absolute characters you ran into in this lmao
With patter like that, you know they've been doing it most of their adult lives
Scott walking around like the richest 10-year-old ever 😂
Just got that nice twenty dollar allowance
That one kid at the field trip
I love that basically all of the workers fully know it’s rigged and just continue to rub that in Scott’s face. I can’t help but respect that hustle.
Those old carny tactics lol. They do that so you'll keep playing as well to prove them wrong.
I love that Scott is just "jokingly" asking if the games are rigged while the attendents deny it all lmao
Getting harassed by the carnies is an essential part of a small time fair
LOL. Right?! I gotta give it to them too! I’ve worked in deferent areas areas of “customer service” my whole sad, SAD life, LOL, so I’m pretty damn good at talking to people and matching my personality to theirs to make a connection. And in my personal life I’m a silly, sarcastic little bitch who likes to joke around and poke fun at their friends while being incredibly careful not to go too far or ever come anywhere close to being genuinely hurtful. (Of *course* I’ve fucked it up a number of times in the past but I’ve *definitely* gotten better at it over the years! Thankfully!)
And yet the thought of combining those attributes would have me absolutely shitting bricks. LOL. Don’t ask me why exactly, but it does!
I’m currently a server as I’ve found that with my specific skill set (In the U.S. and at the right restaurant anyway.) that it’s how I can make the most money! (Which is actually kinda sad, TBH!) ANYWAY, I have a coworker who is _HELLA_ sarcastic with her tables and just straight up makes fun of/bullies like 75% of them. Now, she makes a fucking *KILLING* and is very well loved! However, I am absolutely POSITIVE that if I tried to pull the same shit with any of my tables that I would end up being fired within like a week. And, again, I am _really_ good with people and reading them as well. LOL.
So, yeah, for as much shit as “carnies” get, they most _certainly_ have a _very_ specific skill set and do a job that a _lot_ of people could NOT do well. (Though I _am_ sure that it’s _much_ more difficult to get fired in their position than it is in mine. LOL.)

I read "in the game" and just lost the game, great 😢
I love how every carnival worker, when proving its "possible and easy" lean 4 ft over the railing lol
thats the stratie
Tbf they're not saying YOU can't lean in that far
Then you just copy them? Like yeah if that's the strategy then do it. They're not going to say anything because it's not worth it. Even if you win by that strat there's a hundred people who won't.
I once got pickpocketed by a carnie and it was still less of a robbery than playing their carnival games

the workers are so fucking funny though roasting him so hard for what lmao
when you work at a carnival you're taught to tease and roast the players a lil bit to try and rile them up into playing again to prove you wrong. never enough to piss them off but just enough to make them want to wipe that smile off your face

I imagine it has to do with ego. You look ridiculous as a grown-ass man try-harding a carnival game by leaning way over that knee-high wall. But hey, if you're going to look ridiculous for playing a carnival game in the first place, you may as well go all-in and walk away with the Bob Ross plush

I legitimately was expecting well over 2k
Yeah I def thought he was gonna be like $1,500 lmaoo
Same I thought it was going to be in the thousands. Honestly not terrible for a day of entertainment if you pretend you were just having fun at a casino or something. Obviously reckless and stupid as a daily occurrence, but if the carnival only comes once a year it's not too bad actually.

I absolutely thought he was gonna pass the $1k mark.

Scott is gathering data on how to rig all the games at StruggleFest
and he got the nerve to heart this too he's shameless
@@noone-ss8lu😂😂😂
I wish carnivals would either make these games super hard to win OR expensive. Not both. I was just at a county fair and next to no one was even attempting these games, because when they cost so much and are impossible, why even try?
because they know they can get away with it, they use psychology to get you to try even when you know its rigged. if you went alone it be easy to say fuck you and that scooby doo plushie. but if you there with your date, and she sees something she wantsyour not gonna tell her no becuase there something you want in return LOL..
or maybe your divorced parent who only sees your kids on weekends, and decide you going to take them. your not going to tell them no if they want something either.
This is so real. I used to always give a couple of them a shot at any fair I went to, even though they're rigged, 2 or 3 plays MIGHT get you something, and there's a little bit of adrenaline that comes with getting close. But the last time I went, it was no longer just "tossing away 5-10 bucks for a little fin" and instead would have been 25-30 bucks. I'd much rather save it for a trip to Denny's or something.
ntm the internet exists now and you can find some of the prizes for cheap.
@@nbkarkat it's less about the prizes and more about the experience imo. I semi frequently go to the arcade and have all my points stock piled on my card because I pretty much just enjoy playing the games and having fun with my husband. Although someday I'll actually spend the points. Lol.
@@EricaSwan. that's fair and i mostly agree with you (and would have more a number of years ago), but everything's just way too expensive for me to feel comfortable doing a lot at carnivals.
Scott is the best person to attempt this because he is so incredibly agreeable and friendly
Scott feels like the only creator who really encapsulates the Midwest in every video
Honestly the big thing was the flashbacks to how casually charismatic these people are. Carnival game workers are so good at knowing when to egg someone on and get them to keep trying out of spite and when to tell someone they're super close and will get it if they just keep trying.
To be fair, in this case it didn't matter which one they did, because Scott was going to keep trying either way.
There's a community episode about this
Im sure one of the joys of being a CZcamsr is being able to write off spending a ton of money on carnival games a business expense
For real. I think about that stuff all the time.
No shot you edited this comment and still misspelled “write”
@@cjrob1 sometymes i edit the comment to mystype stuff
Writing things off as a business expense doesn't make them free. It just lowers the amount of taxable income he reports. E.g: Instead of paying taxes on his normal $50,000 of income, he now pays taxes on $49,700. It's really about minmaxing your return, but its not a *tax credit*.
@@Vagitarian01money saved is money earned
I love that the more money you give them the harsher they dunk on you 😂
You can really see in this video how sweet and friendly Scott is. I feel like whenever i see other CZcamsrs do things outside of their recording space they seem awkward (which same) but I feel like Scott is just having a good time and loving what he does. What a great guy!
I love that the end-credits of this is you just making shot after shot on a normal basketball hoop, to show everyone that you're actually not that bad at basketball.
I loved every carnival worker that made an appearance, especially the one who found the channel with Greg. I'm also glad that you're gonna be able to write everything off as a business expense because godDAMN. You were a good sport through it all and it was a treat to see your little one. He's so adorable!

Man thought youtube started with a U😅
Him yelling "You son of a bitch!" about the gum industry expose made me bust out laughing
19:24 "you gotta have good balance" *scott's bottle immediately rotates* 😭💀
It's always good to closely watch the demonstrators and pretty much copy exactly what they do. The Mario board worked because Scott copied the man, but the bottle ring didn't work because they way he was doing it versus the demonstrator were completely different. Copying definitely doesn't guarantee a win, but it can be a big help.
Scott is singlehandedly exposing every industry
The only carnival “game” I’ve ever played is the pick up ducks/fish and get a prize thing. Nobody roasting you or screaming for more customers. I was a soft kid. Mostly there for questionable rides and funnel cake.
I went for the games (I'm not a rides person) and also funnel cake
The trick with the bottle thing is to move the ring from the top of the neck to the bottom as you stand it up (like the guy was doing). And notice how he moves his arm wayyy forward as he stands it upright. And generally you want to get it up in one smooth/fast motion. The more you hesitate, the better the chance that it'll get slipped up.
Overall these are the most emotionally supportive carnies I’ve ever seen.
Love that Scott included 5 consecutive made threes to the end of the video so that we know it was just the unique hoop that was limiting his ability

A North Dakotan CZcamsr and new father Scott Cramer reportedly blows newborn son’s entire college fund playing carnival games at the local fair over the weekend. It all began as a fun and lighthearted video with the young father laughing and smiling optimistically, leisurely throwing plastic rings at oversized bath duckies but it quickly escalated beyond control, according to onlookers.
“He… uh he just kept GOING. We tried to stop him but we were powerless.” Skuds McDip, a carny working the nearby Wiffle Bucket Winnerz booth. “That poor child will be drowning in student loan debt in approximately eighteen years. It’s such a tragedy”
IMPACT27 News attempted to reach Mr. Cramer for comment but had apparently sold his cellphone for “BB gun credits”. Attempts to reach his wife were also unsuccessful.
We’ll continue to follow this story

And now onto other news, after nearly 20 years of tireless searching by smelly internet sleuths we may have finally discovered the winners of the Disney Channel Suite Life On Deck Danimals Sweepstakes and you will NEVER guess who!
This is the best comment I've ever read!!!

Oh no! If this is allowed to continue, he'll only grow up slightly more privileged than people who aren't middle class and white!
That bottle one is the one I have the most respect for because of how consistently the carnies are able to do it and with any of the bottles/boards
Watching Scott miss 15 baskets in a row was painful and very funny
My favorite carnival experience was at the state fair. We were there super early in the day, so no one had really made it to the midway yet. So we're doing the balloon pop thing and just bs'ing with the guy working the booth. and the guy says to my husband, "If you give me $20.00, she can have any prize she wants." 🤣🤣🤣
Lol what prize did you get?
@@annapruitt5546 😁I got a pretty huge plush frog. I named it "Dart." 😁

He's always been this way, like that old video of him going apeshit in the arcade at Space Aliens lmao
CZcams is officially peaking. The kind of stuff we always wanted to do as kids, done by the biggest kid in the world: Scott Cramer
My fav carnival worker was the one that cared so little about you and already convinced you wouldn't win, so he didnt even bother watching you and had his back turned the entire time until you asked him to show you how to do it again. Where he then leans 87% of his upper body over the ledge but expects the customers to do it with your back straight as a plank lmao
But a close 2nd was the Crazy Uncle type at the magnetic bottle lifting stick thing- or whatever- just screaming lies about you to whoevers close enough to listen as you embarass yourself losing while screaming about his inaccurate info back lmfao
the bottle breaking girl is literally bullying you, we love to see it 😭
Girl boss
My parents would never let me play these games as a kid and I thought they were so mean... I get it now 😅.
My parents let me, and one time I won a Webkin, it was a pink poodle but I lost it, I think it might have been the duck one
Scott posting this video is the bravest thing he’s ever done. I would’ve simply pretended this never happened to protect my dignity lmao
I was really hoping the carnival would have one of the ladder games, I work at one and I would love to see Scott try and beat it
The game at 15 minutes in with the Mario backboards, the trick is that kids can’t get that close. Once Scott leaned in it looked so easy but most children aren’t gonna be able to get that close by just leaning
Honestly, a killer marketing scheme would to be to have a patron walk around all day with a big toy and if people ask where they could win one too, just point to a random one with big prizes and you can get a lot of hopefuls to just try out games.
When my mom worked carnivals she'd take breaks with the bigger prizes (or have me come hang out with her for lunch break and carry em around) and do this. Works pretty well :>
I had been wondering to myself if their was someone doing just that while Scott was filming. Or maybe they were on break letting him do all the work with all the prizes he got.
The fact that you kept losing made my heart drop every time you had to pay for more tries I felt so bad lmao
The bottle game is pure skill but its HARD. I watch some people that build and practice the same thing at their house every year to just have it down to muscle memory and they'll go and win a ton of those huge prizes
I live in Fargo as well and Scott makes it sound like the land of possibility, I have no idea how he finds this much stuff to do.
If I had a Nickle for every time Scott says "There it is" & then it isn't, I'd have almost as much money as the people running the stands.
When Scott said, "I'm also a struggler, don't forget that" a couple videos ago... I didn't need proof, Scott!!!
The shot of Scott immediately getting that $10 out the trash would be hilarious
Please do a sequel in an arcade! Like maybe that alien arcade - im curious what prizes they have nowadays, i remember getting stink bombs and finger traps
drew gooden made a video like this! i think he went to main event…?
So my dad is one of those people who is really good at claw games and carnival games bc he’s got his technique down, and he actually won the game where you stand the bottle up…let’s just say I was the only girl walking around with a giant hello kitty stuffed animal for the rest of the night at the fair💀👏🏻

The carnival staff casually bullying Scott😭💀
"probably never gonna go back" - Scott forgetting he recently became a dad. He'll be back. 😂
I feel ya Scott. A lot if Arcades and amusement parks don't accept cash anymore so it definitely messes with you when you can just slide your card and get more credits or buy things.
I owe a huge thank you to Scott! I decided to take a trip to Montana from Canada and I remembered last night about your video on the Enchanted Highway so I took an extra day to go into North Dakota to drive the road and make a few other stops. I just got back from the drive and it felt Magical, cresting a hill and there's this massive structure like you've never seen before over and over again it was absolutely worth the drive 110% it was just fantastic and I would never have known about it without your video, probably the highlight from my trip so far, Thank You!
I cant believe Scott won all those prizes AND the Danimals Sweepstakes?!?!
The workers absolutely roasting Scott is amazing
That was incredibly hard to watch. I cringed most of the time. But gosh darnit I love ya Scott because you’re so humble and kind even when every employee made fun of you! What a great attitude 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love Scotts weird obscure references that he makes. Him bringing up Pablo Sanchez from backyard baseball makes me feel like we lived a pretty similar life despite never knowing eachother. We are both from the midwest also, so we're basically twinning.
My dad definitely succeeded at the bb gun thing not once, but two different times in my life. Though maybe their booths were just a little less rigged, who really knows.
I was told that the secret was that the booths use 2 different papers, the thicker card stock is actually possible, but they only use a couple of those a day
