While exploring the surroundings of Udaipur in Tripura, our point of attraction was Chabimura, at a distance of around 32km from our hotel Gouri in Udaipur. Chabimura, aka Chhobimura is known for its archaeological site of rock sculptures, a panel of 500-600 years old rock-curved images on the bank of river Gomati. The place is near Amarpur in Gomati district of south Tripura. Because of its mystic environment along the river and deep forests, the place is often referred to by locals as the Amazon of Northeast India and you will really understand 'Why' once you visit the place. From Udaipur we took the Udaipur-Amarpur road. Our day was rainy and wet which added some extra flavour to the adventures of the forest roads. From Amarpur the starting point of Chhobimura is another 10 kilometers. But thanks to Google Map, we were again misguided to take some narrow unconventional broken roads, which seemed to be impossible to be regarded as a proper motor road. However, due to this mistake we got to explore some really serene and adventurous roads. Chabimura has to be visited by boats. the starting point of boats (Debtamura or Chakrakma) has been developed as a tourist spot with fooding-lodging-toilet facilities, adventure sports activities, temples, etc. 21-seater motor boats take the tourists to the rock-sculpture points. Ticket is Rs 150/- per head for a trip duration of 1:30 hrs. In around 15 minutes the boat will stop in front of the main attraction - a 20 feet tall curving of Goddess Durga slaying Mahishasura. The majestic view is really mesmerizing. However, the exact origin of these sculptures are still unknown. On return journey the boat stops and the tourists may visit a mystic cave through narrow jungle road walk of around 300-400 meters. The walk along a perennial stream running towards Gomati river will definitely thrill you. But getting inside the deep of the cave is not allowed since that requires expertise and equipment of professional cave-explorers. However, I must say, this journey is strictly and exclusively for nature lovers. So please visit with that mental set up. While returning to Udaipur we could actually find and follow the newly constructed well-maintained motor road, which google map deprived us of and laughed at our earlier confusion. After taking a short break at our hotel we started again for the famous Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary cum Zoo, which is famous for the Spectacled Leaf Monkey of this region. অনেক দিন পর আবার সুদূরের পিয়াসীদের সাথে দেখা হলো। বেশ রোমাঞ্চকর ভ্রমন। এখনও চমৎকার আদিম প্রকৃতি। তবে পথের রক্ষনাবেক্ষণের দরকার। ছবিমুড়ার দৃশ্য মুগ্ধ করে দিল। জানিনা আরও কতো অমূল্য নিদর্শন লুকিয়ে আছে ঐ অঞ্চলে। অনেক ধন্যবাদ সুদূরের পিয়াসীরা। ভালো থাকবেন
