- A piano solo cover version of "Now We Are Free" from the film Gladiator. This particular arrangement has 3 distinct voices which made it harder than usual to learn. Originally composed by Hans Zimmer and sung by Lisa Gerrard, this version is arranged by Mercuziopianist (check out his other awesome arrangements on youtube) and played by Ed Ball. So far what I have seen now we are free piano versions, this is is probably the best one.
One of the best piano arrangements that I have ever seen.
My father pass away 3 years ago... due to pancreatic cancer.
I feel deeply sad when i listen to this song, because i realized that his been a gladiator his whole life for me, my brother and sister and my mom.
At his final year, he clinging to life just to buying time until my mom mentaly ready, as for him he embrace death as a final gift world has to offer.
althou i know sometimes the pain just unbearable for him, he never revealed it infront of our mom.
And now he is free.....

If you've just started, then it's going to take a while. You have to learn each hand at a time slowly, then once you know each hand pretty well, start putting the two together. Start slow, and once you get the hang of it start to pick up the playing pace. I've been playing for 10 years now, and this is how I've been learning all my songs.

this is amazing! good job. I often arrange in 3 or more voices as well, I find it really adds to the beauty and complexity of the song to have as many voices as two hands can play.
This is really incredible, very good work at managing the 3 voices. I agree this is easily the best piano version i've seen, i also tried to play this by ear, and yes it will be flipping difficult since it uses cluster chords spread out over several octaves and hemiolas.

Beautifully played. Saw this on mercuzio's channel and thought I would try to learn it, but I was unsure if I would be able. However, seeing you play it gave me a greater understanding of how the piece is played and hope of my ability to play it. Well done!

This must have taken a tremendous amount of effort and time to master. This is very beautiful!
It may sound stupid, but it literally is just keep going as you are. After a while you will need to look at the notes on the keys less and less as you learn where they are - at that point you have made headway. As for sight-reading (playing from sheet music) look for an easy sight-reading book like grade 1 (ABRSM i find is the best) and work through the grades like that so grade 1 sight reading book, the grade 2 book, and so on. Never give up - that's like letting Commodus win
