Ordered four Pugster Blues and three double play doozie spirea. Came beautifully packed and safe, and grew into beauties last summer. They are looking healthy and fit right now, and I don’t have to spray or worry about deer eating them. You are a great source of information and healthy plants. So nice to know I can find specific plants that fit my space. Your suggestions are the reason I have invested in these particular plants and you are spot on with the why and how. Thanks. Oh perfect timing my daughter just build a new house ,so we were wondering what to plant so you’ve picked out most we like thanks so much we are in BC Canada I don’t think we can order these on web site so hopefully our garden Centre here has them
Great list Heidi your video is perfect timing. I’m in the process of extending a garden looking for compact plants and found lots of choices look forward to ordering them on line from Garden Crossings.
I found with the Double Play Doozie that it does not bloom nonstop. In order for it to bloom and its first big show- you need to cut it back and wait for new growth to come on then it’ll bloom again. Not the “nonstop” growth that’s advertised

Love this video. SOOOO helpful. My question is, when you say prune them in the fall, do you mean the entire plant or just the blooming stems?
I would trim the whole plant so it is even

Interesting. It keeps on putting new blooms for us. Trimming to promote new growth is another way to promote more blooms.
I’d love to know the light requirements for the compact butterfly bush.
