  • In this video, I'll walk you through sewing the School House Tunic in Mammoth Flannel. I'm using my straight stitch Juki TL2000 machine, NO serger or zig zag stitches used in this basic tutorial.
Normally I would serge, but I want you to know this works with a very basic machine. Don't let anything stop you from going for it!!!!
The sewing pattern is in our shop here: sewhungryhippi...

After sewing for 70 years, I’ve always carry a large rock in my purse. If anyone ever says my plaids don’t match under my arms, I just hit them with my purse. So, I never worry about my plaids matching! Classic project explained so every level sewist can easily understand. Thanks for an enjoyable tutorial.

Flat felled seams are a better choice for flannels.

Nice instructions! I think you should google the pronunciation of the word bodice.

I love this tutorial! I just got the pattern from you in the mail and i have made it all the way to the sleeves before i hit a snag ( i really dont like putting sleeves in lol). Im wondering if you used a 5/8 seam allowance on yours. It seems like such a large seam so im doublechecking before I finish them. Thanks for your input!

I rarely use 5/8" SA, so I probably did not.... usually I'm using a 1/2" SA and it works out fine. Just stay consistent.

I would like to add side seam pockets, Im making the size 10/12 how far down should I put them.

Question? I have the PDF Pattern and I am getting to step three, attaching the bias binding. The binding from my pattern is only 1 1/4" and it is attached differently, folding it to the inside before you attach the front pieces. I am a bit confused. 🤔

Many ways to do something- I try to simplify so that it’s easier for every level. You can do either way! 😄✌️
