This was definitely the right decision. Muslim prayers are public and highly distracting to others. Muslims often are intimidating to non-Muslims during these prayer sessions, too. Not to mention that stopping school activities so that a minority of students can make a public show of their religion is outrageous. Would a school permit Christians or Jews or Hindus to do this? Absolutely not! So why should Islam get special consideration?

When I pray, I don't speak. I don't show any outward signs of it. If I were to dress up like a clown and dance around in order to "pray" I would be disruptive and that should be stopped. If you've gotta roll out a carpet and kiss the floor with your ass in the air just to pray, then you don't have the right to disrupt a room full of people who don't want to deal with that sort of thing. I moved home to another town. I tried to enrol my Daughter in the Catholic school. I spoke to the priest there and he told me that we both had to attend mass at his church and my daughter had to attend instuction for 6 weeks. I explained I attened mass at my church in the town I had moved from. That didnt matter hw said. I gave up in the end because I couldn't understand why they had Muslims and other faiths at this school. Even in our own christian a schools we are disciminated against . It don't make sense. It's about time someone put there foot down and said no. Do not put their ideas into our kids.

I went to CofE school many years ago! We had assembly each morning including prayers and a hymn, we had church or cathedral services for special occasions. We had religious education which included Bible study and looking at other religions. We were schooled in "christian values" respect, tolerance, charity etc. We also had corporal punishment. Our uniforms were checked to be compliant, we were told off for scruffiness.
Our grandparents suffered WW2, some of our parents suffered WW2, the rationed national service generation - that generation taught our generation. Respect for elders, give up your seat on a bus, take your litter home, kindness & compassion for others and living things, be grateful for a dinner? Be grateful for peace, be grateful to BE BRITISH in a democracy & christian country, if you want something work and save up for it?
It appears my generation is the last of that kind .... and even we are being turned against ourselves? Kids are feral, immigration is out of control, iconic landmarks felled or vandalised by so called protesters? The tolerance has waned somewhat along with the empathy? Glad i wont be around many years more.
