ArrayList fruitList = new ArrayList();
This is how you create your ArrayList in java. Now, you can type fruitList.add(), fruitList.get(), fruitList.clear(), fruitList.remove() and much more!
THESE are the main differences between the array in java and the arraylist in java. You can easily, add, remove and modify ArrayLists, but it's much harder with Arrays. That's the big difference between Arrays and ArrayLists in Java.
This ArrayList can be trick at first... But SURELY you'll get it :) If you followed along, congrats! You learned-by-doing!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to use ArrayList in Java! I like to have a nice mix of tutorials and actual projects for you all :)

why did you stop uploading videos bro 😭😭
i really enjoy your videos ngl your videos was the reason i pass may data structures exam
You literally made a 3 hours lecture down to 6 minutes. Thank you!
A 3 hour lecture on arraylist? Jesus christ.
The teacher must’ve been lecturing at .25 speed
@@clublulu399 thats exactly what i thought. 3 hours on just that???? LOL
I was gonna say this.I missed my classes one day and I come here to see the video about ArrayList make my life so much easy
My teacher literally gave us a project about this stuff and was like “figure it out”
Thats what programming is though, if teacher helps too much in this field u wont learn much even if it doesnt seem reasonable
same here! this was soooo helpful!!
YEAAAAA I MEAN OUR TEACHER IS BEYOND CRUEL
Taking time to dissect the code step by step has always been challenging yet rewarding. With comprehending the concepts, you'll quickly pick up the rest of whatever area you're studying. I recommend locating broken code on the internet and fix it up as a random challenge.
Great way to learn IMHO
I have to say, as a beginner, the way you break things down, give examples, and the layout of your videos that show what you're typing and even the shortcuts, are so very beneficial. Thank you for all of the awesome tutorials.
Simple, informative and straight to the point - just the way good tutorials are meant to be. You covered 2 hours of my reading material in five minutes. Good job and thanks for the help!
Learning so much from all of these 4 years later. thank you for all you have done with these videos. you really are amazing!
your tutorial videos have been exponentially helpful as i just enrolled in a computer science degree and know nothing about programming. I will definitely recommend your channel as it is the most clear cut, example laced, description on what the hell i'm doing, or trying to. I appreciate your help.
this is a legit java tutorial, short and on point, good job!
I can't believe I learned array lists and 2d arrays in less than 5 minutes, Alex you are amazing and I appreciate what you do, your explanations have really saved from tight spots
I've been taking OOP for 8 months and I NEVER knew this. You're amazing
This was really interesting and good to know!
ArrayLists would've helped me out a lot a while back.
Very easy to follow and hear clearly unlike a lot of tutorials out there. Thanks!
Bro you litterally helped me for 3 years now in the uni. You are a legend
Thanks for the vid, Alex! Cramming for my programming final tomorrow
Jake Korey good luck!
I am loving the vibe of this channel, you just earned a subscriber today.
As much as I despise Java, I love your tutorials, man. They're straight to the point, and don't waste any time. Thanks for making them!
I like your short and concise style of explaining. Sure you dont mention every detail (which is impossible anyways)and there are some important things left unsaid, but if you just want the basic information and then work with it yourself, which I think is the only way to truly learn programming, this is perfect.
I had 0% motivation and kept re-reading my book 326534634543 times thinking that it was so complicated, but you explained it so well in just a few minutes and now I find it super easy. Thank you so much for your work!!
binge watching Alex's tutorials for I have my exam in OOP tomorrow. Kudos, the tutorials are all great and easy to follow along!
The perfect video when you haven't touched coding in a month, have 2 months' work of assignments due in half a month, and this year's AP test only covers up to arraylists.
yooo!!! same here man!! studying for the bloody AP exam
@@aaronbaraiya3692 Nothin like the last minute
@@confusedskeleton5486 Same here
@@noahberman6992 my only thought, why didn't we start with this?
same im studying the day before the ap test
Thanks for your videos! It helps SO much that you do a basic step-by-step and explain each thing you do and show direct results in real time.
Your content is very easy to follow and you get your point across in a simple and digestible way.
This was a great video, short and to the point.
Man, this is SO helpful for the people trying to learn during quarantine. The way you explain it makes it super easy to understand certaing concepts and how the codes actually work when you hit "run". I know its an old video, but keep it up man!
Those videos are awesome! Perfect length to always learn some new intererstig stuff while not more information than you can remember.
I also love the way you explain things, for me your videos are always a lot easier to understand compared to other channels.

Same here
Thank you man, I was pounding my head against a wall trying to understand why I need to learn both of these but you explained it perfectly.
Very nice and straightforward! Thanks!
Very thankful you go back and explain stuff. I've watched these in order of Java Basics 1 - Java Basics 2 and once In a while something might slip by that was explained differently or simply shown In a later video more ahead In the playlist but maybe made earlier.

Thanks man! Short and sweet, explained all important functions and made it easy to understand.

Alex! You are awasome! Your videos are really helping me to pass my CS class.
Dope! Easy to understand! Thanks bud!
Thank you for the lessons😊 They really help!
Thanks for the video Alex! Really Helpful!
Thank you very much Alex, super simplified explanation
best explanation ever! I finally understand the difference now. Arraylist is so much better. Thanks!
The video was great on its own, and I appreciate the lesson. That said, the subtle subscription plug(where you worked a subscription reference into the lesson by saying that array lists are probably how they handle subscriptions) was fairly brilliant and got a chuckle out of me. Whether it was done consciously or not, its what got me to subscribe, lol. Thanks again
Thanks, I'm thankful I found your channel. I just finished java course on sololearn app but watching the viedo makes me fully understand the methods, syntax etc. like how to use it or when to use. Again thank you it helps a lot.
I know ArrayLists, I just clicked this video to look at the keyboard, I love keyboards. But the links you provided at the description are so helpful that this video helped me a lot. The links on the description are more helpful than so many other coding videos on youtube :D. I just liked the links and wanted to thank you.
