Yes it is venomous. (Tasmanian Tiger snake). Saw 3 that day. Ended up walking the remainder of the track. Worried I was going to step on one. Should have known they'd be out on a warm day.

This was an ankle twister for sure. Not a trail I would really run. I imagine twisting my ankle, only survive the cold elements overnight and then be eaten by a mountain lion. Featured on Unsolved Mysteries the next year😑

That's a nice sized tiger snake. I spent 5 night at WoJ last week. On ran into a runner doing Mt Jerusalem. He wasn't sure to do the circuit or out and back. Not sure if that was you?
