    ZVE1 user here. Still a great buy and never seen it overheating so far for me (without very long-form content filming need though). Worth noting: Only 1 SD card slot so not sure if really an option as an A camera for jobs. Also Dynamic Active crops in noticeably which takes away some field of view (or you switch to wider lenses).

    It's pretty irritating that you don't speak about how a lot of these cameras are crippled in significant ways:
    -When you talk about the ZV-1, you don't even mention the original ZV-1 which is a WAY better camera than the ZV-1 II and especially this crappy ZV-1f for a lot less money. The original ZV-1 has a MUCH better lens with much faster aperture at higher focal lengths, with more zoom reach and significantly sharper optics. And additionally, it has much better stabilization because it has OSS which in combination with Active Steadyshot gives you much smoother video stabilization than Active Steadyshot alone in zhe ZV-1 II where the OSS has been removed - not to mention the fact that digital stabilization is useless for photography which means the ZV-1 II is unusable for lowlight photography while the original ZV-1 performs surprisingly well in night photography thanks to its pretty effective OSS which allows handheld shutter speeds down to 1/6s in my experience. Yet, you can get a used original ZV-1 for around 300-400€ and save a lot of money over the crippled ZV-1 II.
    -When you talk about the a7iv and the a7cii aa perfect hybrid cameras, don't you think you should at least have mentioned the fact that these two cameras have by far the worst rolling shutter of any full frame camera in this price range on the market right now? They have almost twice as much rolling shutter in 4k than the a6700 and even quite a bit more than the a7iii which was released in 2018 and which already wasn't great in this regards.
    Unfortunately, this video seems more like a Sony advertisement show than balanced information.

    Hi, I'm still using an old Sony SLT A65 APS-C which continues to serve me well. Dilemma I have is that as it ages the lenses are facing obsolescence as they are A-mount. I have a Sigma "Bigma" lens which is a wonderful piece of glass as well as a handful of others. My question is are any of the newer APS-C cameras likely to be compatible if I use a mount adapter and would the auto-focus etc remain functional? Mostly used for stills and not for vlogging etc although the occasional video might be shot. Thanks in advance for any advice.

    I loved your Video Content. I am currently producing talking head videos using a Sony A6400 with a Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 lens. I am considering upgrading my gear to either the Sony FX30 or Sony A6700. My goal is to deliver the best possible quality within a reasonable budget. However, I’m unsure whether I should wait until I have completed 50 to 100 videos (which I anticipate will take about a year) before upgrading to a full-frame camera like the Sony A7 IV or Sony A7C II.
    Given that I am also working a 9-to-7 job, I would greatly appreciate your sincere advice on whether to upgrade now or wait until I have more content under my belt.

    • @dacormusic
      @dacormusic Před měsícem

      I've had the a6600 for 2 years and I absolutely love it very capable for photography and holds its own 4k slog2.. but if you're looking for professional video the 8bit can be really hard to work with if not exposed correctly and the slow motion options leave ALOT to be desired. If you are looking to do professional video work, I would save the extra $500 and get the a6700..

    • @fabianlehr4318
      @fabianlehr4318 Před měsícem

      For photography, it's the best APS-C camera Sony has made yet, even surpassing the a6700. For videography, on the other hand, it's pretty outdated with really bad rolling shutter in 4k, no 4k slow motion options and no digital video stabilization. If you primarily want to use it for photography, the a6600 is excellent. If videography plays a big role for you as well, go for the a6700.

  • @H2o3G2a
    @H2o3G2a Před měsícem +1

    For video work, professional or otherwise. the ZVE1 is the best. Spend a few hundred bucks to rig it out which you would have done to an fx3 or any other video camera. Overheating is not an issue in 24p, use a small rig fan if you're worried. Dual Sd ? record externally on your monitor plus I've never had a V90 SD card fail on me so that's a whole different story.
    If you want a proper cinema camera then google what Sundance films were shot on and you'll see that pretty much no one uses a7siii, fx3, fx6 or any of that (not the fx9, that's dope). They either go proper heavy or really light and cheaper, like the blackmagic. Everything in-between is redundant unless it's a hybrid.
    limitations for the zv-e1 would be 10bit and no raw video. which is the same with a lot of those other cameras.

    Sony is in a very interesting position right now. They overlap their cameras a lot and I think that's so they can continue to make headlines with new features as they release new cameras. They just announced in their sensor division a 44mp 4k 120p no crop sensor that might make it in the A7V. They also have a Medium Format sensor they released and I wouldn't be surprised if we see new cameras with current sensors as well. The fx30 seems like it's not the final form to me. They could get more out of that apsc sensor with better hardware. I also see it possible they put one of their big sensors in a new point and shoot to compete with the Fuji x100iv. The RX1R is pretty old. Then being the innovators they are. I also wonder if they'll change the entire design of a camera since we're entering an era of 3D, VR, XR etc. The Canon R5C changed designs a bit and the DJI Ronin 4D rethinks cinema cameras, I can't imagine Sony wouldn't try to innovate as they always have.
    If I were buying a Sony today, I'd get the A7RV since it's both a 61mp and a 26mp apsc crop mode camera. Then if I was getting an FX I'd either get the FX30 or wait to see what the new FX9mkii will have in it's heart. Between the A9iii and whatever the next FX camera is, we can tell the direction Sony might go for the next year ahead. but A7V is right around the corner so maybe wait for that too. However, if you're wanting a camera that lasts much longer I'd do the new Canon R5ii or R1 since Canon people just work for 5-8 years before looking at gear again. Then Nikon will be an interesting challenger to Sony FX when they finally release their first RED/Nikon love child. What a time to be alive!

    Considering the releases by Canon and Nikon, with the super fast readout speeds, useful E Shutter, zero blackout viewfinder, uncropped 4K 60 and minimal rolling shutter, I really wouldn't consider any Sony camera right now. I want a true hybrid camera so the A7s line is out. The only 2 I'd want if money was no object would be the A1 or the A9iii, both way out of my price range. I guess I'm waiting for the A7v. I'm sick of rolling shutter and want it out of my life.
