This film I recorded during my holidays on October 2006. A very impressive show. Visit the Loro Parque on the Tenerife Island in Spain. Also look to my Orca Video.
i strongly agree. we've just come back from Tenerife & we went 2 the Loro Parque twice it was that gud. best thing is, 2nd trip there, we did the discovery tour & i can tell from 1st hand experience just how much those magnificeint creatures enjoyed themselves. the whole of loro parque was a fantastic experience!!!
Just a little tip for those going to Tenerife. if u wanna go to both Loro Park and Junglepark, i would recomend u to go to Loro, becouse in Junglepark the birds are chained and some of the animals walk on concret. Don't get me wrong, it is a great park but i would recomend u to go to Jungle first so u don't get disappointed compared to Loro Park.
Most captive dolphins are confined in minuscule tanks containing chemically treated artificial seawater. Dolphins in a tank are severely restricted in using their highly developed sonar, which is one of the most damaging aspects of captivity. It is much like forcing a person to live in a hall of mirrors for the rest of their life - their image always bouncing back with no clear direction in sight.
I have been there and it was awsome. Whales show was also awsome but dollhins show was a lot of better and i,am feeling bad because i didnt goed to the parrot show.
@karenfayekal What is cruel is to condemn these creatures as captured animals. As I said to someone else, not every animal can take care of itself and is better off in places like this, or does one need to remind you of what happened to Keiko? You know Keiko? Free Willy? It was let free and it died, because it beached itself. I love people like you who think every animal is suffering, just because they're in a zoo. It just shows how little people know.
@gally50 And not every dolphin would survive in the wild, due to illnesses, or being abandoned by its parents. Same goes for a lot of animals held "captive" in zoos. Maybe you need to learn that not every animal is held captive, but is taken care for in a zoo, where the same animal could otherwise not survive. In other words, in a lot of cases, animals are better off in a zoo where they're save from poachers, abusers, deforesters and whatnot and given a place of their own.
I agree here, Dolphines are smart, but they should be used for Entertainment to us, we wouldn't like it if we were caught and trained up just to be watched day in day out and getting nothing out of it!
@Piisuke keiko would not have been is his sad predicament had he not been corralled and captured for man's amusement. for those cetaceans who cannot be succesfully released into the wild, sanctuaries should be created as far as zoos, sadly they are at time the only place animals are safe from man...in manmade cages complex, tragic...
his entire show is sad. An intelligent mammal taken from the wild in one of the most cruelest forms then forced to live in a swimming pool for life and listen to obnoxious music and do tricks for fish. I hope one day Sea World shuts down and stops this inbreeding of whales and overall inhumane way to keep large sea mammals
orcas and dolphins belong in the sea swimming and being what they were born to be captivity, in a small watery cage is beyond cruel confinement ...and not very sage cetaceans have intelligence on a par or higher than man to be trapped in a marine park for them is a garbage can for entertainment tenerife should not depend on these glorious creatures let their incarceration end!!!! KLK
Dolphins are intelligent, thinking, highly culturally evolved and self-aware beings. Promoting places like this is encouraging the dolphin industry and condemning dolphins to a life of slavery. Captivity in tiny tanks leads to zoochosis when dolphins exhibit abnormal, obsessive and repetitive behaviour such as lying motionless at the surface or on the aquarium floor for relatively long periods of time, swimming in circles repetitively, bullying other dolphins resulting in bloody injuries, and the victim has no way to escape the bullying in a tiny tank, and slamming themselves against the sides of their tanks concrete walls as a form of self-harm. @callumtabs The orca ocean is 12 meters deep, so I presume the dolphin tank would be of similar depth.

I KNOW THAT ITS THE BIGGEST DOLPHIN TANK IN THE WORLD BUT HOW DEEP IS IT?
@kaz5012007
For 44Euros entrance, everything is free. You don´t have to pay 90Euro!
