    You are my hero! I fought with this thermostat four hours to try to wire it up. You are an amazing teacher with all your tips and tricks. It’s all about making the connection with these confusing things. Twist your wires before putting them in the cap! Love it! Thank you so much!!! I had 8 wires in my electric box that needed to be shoved into those little caps.

    Amazing, I did this going from a 2 wire to a 4 wire and this explained it all. With the right tools and instructions, all things are possible. Thank you, well done.

    I have a Honeywell CT410A,B I removed the current thermostat. In the box were only two wires, 1 black 1 white. This is for a gas forced air garage heater. there is a electrical on/off switch mounted on the ceiling by the heater. this switch supplies power to the thermostat on the wall. Like i said earlier only two wires on the wall box. How to I wire the new thermostat which has 4 wires.? Thanks

    You cannot always go by the wire color on the thermostat. I had to make sure T1and T2 on the thermostat went to the baseboard heater and L1 and L2 on the thermostat went to the input power. The house circuit breaker tripped when just using both black wires on the thermostat hooked to the baseboard heater.

    Good instructional video. Excellent job w/the importance of a solid connection. Nothing more frustrating than coming behind someone who hasn't done this. Ya know your diving into a real cluster!!

    I would mention that the thermostat may not have the same color wiring scheme. Mine, for example, had black and red for load and black and red for line. Other than that this tutorial is pretty good for 240V heater/thermostats. I had to figure out how to wire the 2 pole thermostat because the instructions did not match what I had in the wall. The instructions only show one wire corresponding to each of the four wires on the thermostat. The existing thermostat was a single pole, so that didn't help.

  • @aaronhuckstorf217
    @aaronhuckstorf217 Před rokem

    So it has to be feeding another thermostat on the other side because you need a double pole breaker, correct?

    Hello. What breaker are you using for the thermostat?

  • @realSamAndrew
    @realSamAndrew Před 11 měsíci

    Usually, black goes to line and red goes to load. In some cases, wiring a device backwards as he does here could cause problems. Always read the instructions that come with your device. Even electricians get cocky and lazy sometimes.

    Hi. I am having a hard time figuring out which pair of wires runs to the load. I am using an MM400 multimeter in Ohmmeter mode. When I touch the terminals on the Ohmmeter to each other. So I turned off the breakers and tried putting the Ohmmeter between each possible white-black wire pairing. I did not hear any beep in this process. What am I doing wrong?

  • @Michael-xr6vn

    Mine has a black and red in Line1 and line2. A black and red in T1 and T2.
    I connected the hot black wire to the black wire on L1.
    I connected the incoming white wire neutral to L2.
    I connected the black wire going to the heater to the black wire on T1.
    I connected the white wire going to the heater to the red wire on T2.
    IT didn't work!!!!!!!!!! The heater started making a loud sound when I turned it on 😁😢
    What did I do wrong??

    • @USCG.Brennan
      @USCG.Brennan Před 4 lety

      Or does it throw your breaker off? If so, somebody has wired two heaters into the same breaker and that breaker may be too small.

  • @abhiamiableabhi
    @abhiamiableabhi Před 4 lety +1

    For me two pair shows continuity, you tested continuity only on two pair of wire and not on third pair. SO not sure if the test is definitive

    iL Y A UN DÉLAI DE 30 À 60 MINUTES ENTRE DEUX DÉMARRAGES DE LA CHAUFFERETTE : MÊME SI JE METS LE THERMOSTAT À UN DEGRÉ SUPÉRIEUR À CELUI D,AVANT LA CHAUFFERETTE NE REDÉMARRE PAS. DONC LA TEMPÉRATURE DANS LA PIÈCE DEVIENT INCONFORTABLE. EST-CE DÛ À L'UN OU L'AUTRE DES APPAREILS ?
