25th May 2024 44871 Engine Move

Due to engineering work on the WCML 44871 had to run via Hellifield to take over the Northern Belle at Carlisle. The train running direct from Darlington to Carlisle via Newcastle.
I was lucky to get the shot at Greystonegill Lane as the engine was running 18mins early..
After running around its support coach at Hellifield, 44871 is seen at full gallop heading north through Settle station.

You chose the right end of Settle station (with a minute to spare), the Black 5 was certainly flying.

The 5 going well at Settle, but lucky you got your shot, maybe the DMU waited for you 🤔 nice one too at Greystonegill bridge and great to see the 5 today .

I'd only just set camera up and switched on when it turned up. 18 early.
