"One day, the Emperor was assassinated by members of the Mythic Dawn cult that worshiped Mehrunes Dagon. So I ran around punching literally everyone, created potions and scrolls out of nothing, and drank myself into a skooma stupor. I ran across Cyrodiil like a madwoman, forgetting how exhausting it was, guzzling skooma all the way. Then Martin Septim turned into a dragon--or at least I think he did. Maybe that was the skooma."
Was it the Mythic Dawn? I thought it was mentioned in Skyrim that the Dark Brotherhood assassinated Uriel Septim VII.
It is very clear in Oblivion that the Emperor is killed by the Mythic Dawn.

A little late to the party, but in skyrim it is implied that the Hero of Kvatch (oblivion's main character) is killed by a dark brotherhood assassin. It's one of my least favorite things that they did in skyrim, because they imply you're killed by the adoring fan from the arena quest line. anyway, just putting that out there as it might be what you were thinking of.
what a spectacularly chill run. most gdq runs i can't watch when i'm trying to relax bc of all the nervous energy and loud, tryhard jokes. chill runner, chill presenters, chill audience. 10/10
Surprising no-one, a triple-blind study conducted by ancestor moth priests reveals that the fastest way to save Tamriel is to drink an ungodly amount of skooma.
This is my new headcanon for Oblivion.
Saw the bowling, though to my self "That's it, nothing is going to be better."
It's actually the hardest trick in the game.
I also got that ghost glitch while playing casually. When you kill the skeleton, the blade ghost is supposed to be teleported from a small cave thingy that is "burried" under the floor in that room, but he just stays there forever, then the only way to progress is using tcl to get to the armor, or using it to go talk to him, target him with the console, going back to the armor room, then using another command to teleport him to you.
I've been on a major GDQ kick the past two weeks. And I'm living every moment of it.
Bubbles is easily THE most entertaining speedrunner ive seen on this channel, watching this is better than watching a movie and this somehow also satisfies my nostalgia and prevents me from downloading the game only to get bored 10 minutes after i start it.

i did the dupe glitch a lot back in the day when i played on xbox 360. overdid it one day and was stuck watching jeweled necklaces fall in Anvil for about 45 minutes, and took maybe 2 days to pick them all up at 5 seconds per frame (

I just had the exact same glitch during the tomb for Tiber Septim's armor happen yesterday when playing casually. No idea what triggers it, but yeah, thank god for console commands. No idea what a console player would do though lol

The same thing happened to me when I was playing the game for the first time. I thought the game was just glitched out and wouldn't let me finish. Eventually enough time passed that the guy showed up.
That moment when you realize the video you were looking forward to watching is one you already watched a long time ago :(

I have two memories from oblivion. One is wondering through the forest after escaping the jail. Finding a unicorn and then finding out I could ride it. Taking it to kvatch, jumping off its back and it absolutely killing everyone and everything in town

This is one of the first games I played when I went back to gaming as an adult. It took me around 100 hours...
Run ACTUALLY starts at 3:55 then REALLY ACTUALLY starts at 5:40 Not even joking....
In the tomb where they had to kill those 4 specific skeletons... I'm very sure that they didn't killed the last skeleton which is the reason why they couldn't get past the barrier and had to use the noclip cheat.
they walked back and looked right at the remains of the last skeleton, if any of them id feel skeptical about the 2nd but he also got the notification for that one which wouldnt have happened

is it just me or is it that every dungeon is super dark and you cant see anything? otherwise it was great
In the earlier versions everything was ridiculously dark, which meant there was actually a point to torches and nighteye

I didn't think you could even best this game. You just finish the main quests and then it just repeats the same 10 quests over and over doesn't ir?
Unlike Skyrim, Oblivion doesn't have repeatable radiant quests. If you complete every single quest in the game then there aren't any more quests to do. That being said, once you complete the main questline there are still a lot of optional quests to do.
Console commands wont make you move faster then that but duping stat enchants you can jump across the entire map lol

Does the time it takes to quick save and quick load not constitute as a pay to win aspect as they were talking about avoiding with the frame rate cap?

That's just a thing in Oblivion. You don't have to discover those locations.

I used to time myself on getting full deadric starting from level 1. Can do in about an hour hahaha.
So Dolan Pls is essentially Doom Guy then? She runs around at very high speeds, slaughters daemons, doesn't care about those dying around them, and goes to Hell (or its equivalent) multiple times.
