Please be cautious about this video. Proper technique is to breathe through your nose and mouth at the SAME time in order to avoid vocal fatigue, dryness, and irritability. cont.
The easiest way to practice this is:
with your mouth closed, gently bite your teeth together and smile, move the tip of your tongue back toward the center of your mouth, and then breathe deep through your nose. You should feel air through both passage ways, but may have to practice to get comfortable.
Once you have that down, try moving your tongue around in your mouth while you breathe through your nose to see how it affects airflow.

I agree you get more air mouth.But it seems to fry out my throat faster.But breathing thru noise does make more noise.

Great video as expected. Breathing properly takes lots of practice. Air for singing is like gas for your car. You always need a full tank. There really is no such thing as taking in too much air or over breathing. However taking in too little air or under breathing will not give you proper carry over from line to line and will make it very difficult to hit those high notes or hold out on longer notes. Plus you will lose rhythm because your timing will be out of sync. These are my experiences with breathing. : }

How about between belly & mouth? 🤔 Mostly they say u gotta do it from the diaphragm (belly breathing) but its also real hard, tight & uncomfortable to breathe from the diaphragm but easier with mouth.

For me its not should you breath through your nose its how my nose is stuffed 24/7 365 days a year medical treatments dont work
the problem for me is that my mouth gets too dry when breathing through my mouth and my voice turns a little breathy, am i the only one?

Hello Freya, i've been watching a lot of your videos and i've been practising for some month but, i feel a problem but can't point my finger on what it is.
I record my voice really often to see what is lacking but like i said i don't know on what i should improve, anyway would they be a way to maybe send you some records to listen and guide me? Looking forward for others videos 😀

I just started to try to breathe correctly while I sing but the problem is, my throat starts to hurt. I thought it was because I was breathing through my mouth and it was drying up my throat but now idk.
