I just came home from a morning session with my 4 yr old gelding. He trail rides fine, but needs to learn disciplines in the arena. I found his teachings valuble for my next session, hopefully tonight!!!

Thank you for assistance in my 3yr old stallion. It was so nice to understand why the fight was there. I knew it was me just didn't know how to reach him.

"Ask, pull him around, let em go." I swear I'm going to hear that in my dreams lol. Very helpful though, definitely going to help in teaching my Arab to neck rein.

@barrelhorserider7- You might find a couple of our newest video uploads helpful. Check out the videos titled "Enhancing Your Horse's Trail Performance" - there is one video on jogging in and out of obstacles and another on measuring the horse's stride length between poles. Generally a trail class will have about eight obstacles ranging from maneuvering a gate, trotting over poles, or backing through an obstacle. Check to see if your 4-H program has guidelines for the trail class.

Hi, great video, thanks so much. can you tell me the best bit to teach my horse to neck rein in. I'm using a french link snaffle. when should i switch over to a curb? Will a curb help my horse 'get' neck reining better? She seems to be picking it up well, but i'm not sure about bits for neck reining. Thanks in advance, NaoKatmi.

I like his method of explanation but he really isn't going into leg cues to help direct the horse in the direction you want maybe in the next video?

My horse is 3 he is very smart standardbred gelding and only lets me ride him lol others get on him n he FEEZES or bucks.
so y question is what bit should i use. a snaffle? ive been using a Stiff straigh bit i used my Barrel racin bit on him n he didnt think anythin of it except CHEW ON IT so i put one in his mouth with no movin parts.
ive been tols a Snaffle is best for Reining hes stops on a dime so i ask another professional good bit to use on him? i have videos of him riding
