Well hydroid is broken! In this video i focus on his first ability because its amazing and fun!
Ofcourse change his build around to your playstyle
hes so versatile at the moment its really easy to build him
He doesn't even need a helminth realistically
NB: Tactical potato just released a video and he uses Breach surge WHICH i did not test that ability is OP AF and you should use it but it looks to me like itll get nerfed!

NB I didnt test it but breach surge makes you do insane damage with this tentacles and Barrage Ability !
I feel that pink is not his color
Farm-augment didnt work, im tested it on Hydro, Saryn,Chora,Necros
so at survive mission with Hydroid more than 5 runs, oxigen ended after 6-9mins, as Saryn.
but Necros or Chora have 100% oxy after 10 mins more.
tested on 140lvl steel path, only by they own farm, without using oxygen colons.

Honest I was interested in seeing how this rework went, hoped that maybe it would give me a reason to log in again after almost a year of not playing... guess it's not good enough to make me go back. Neither the rework nor the new frame are alluring to me.

its amazing that overnight hydroid went from one of the worst frames in the game to the sleep paralysis demon of every grineer and corrupted grineer

Hydroids Helminth became my new favorite subsume on Zephyr. It's such an amazing synergie and with the rain and the tornados it feels like playing a weather god. ^^

@@WarframeFlo I use the Barrage Augment on my build and enemys inside the tornados have maxed Viral and Corrosive procs in less then a second. I'm bad at explaining this but basically the tornados generate multiple hits per damage instance, thats why they stack up so fast. Armored Steelpath enemys turn into paper. And you don't need to mod for much strength either. 100% for the 100% status chance was more then enough in my testings. However if you decide to mod for more strength, the rain is also capable of killing the enemys for you even on higher steelpath lvl, because the corro damage skales with strength. Have fun in your testings. Hopefully they result in a new video. Realy enjoy your content. :)
Quick note, I believe ability range doesn't affect tempest barrage aoe, but rather the explosion triggered by its projectiles on impact. Stay awesome.
If you get at least 200% range, every shot is guaranteed to hit all enemies in the radius of the ability.
If it works like before... More range increases the AOE of the ability, but NOT the explosion range. So more range would mean more area covered, but less "focused" on one point, which also would mean that I'd take more time for an enemy to reach max corrosive stacks.

now the aoe is the same, but the bullet explosion is enhanced. you can check on the ability description.

Im pretty happy to see the new rework on hydroid and its really neet,
survivability wise is harder now but stripping armor and gaining corrosive is powerful,
Tentacle swarm is better now, and could work better if you have a subsumed grouping ability, like mag pull
i recommend banshee's silence, because it makes it more manageable to stay longer for solo with good range, high duration hydroid
And could make corrosive Cold builds work more for crit DPS builds effective for less used weapons
Hydroid has been my favorite warframe from the first time i saw him. This new update just made him a lot more fun and spammy. He's also a lot more user friendly too.

i did unironically use undertow; with low range its a hilarious way to partake in stealth gameplay.
same with atlas and hiding behind a rockwall like its a curtain.

Honestly its one of the best reworks we've had in years. Pablo worked his magic on this one.
I like how the plunder skill gives your guns corrosive damage, so you can use another status other than corrosive with, like viral or gas etc.
or you could use the tempest mod, and get both at the same time... and so you could just build your guns with gas instead.

Interesting, i did a umbral health tank build with him. His 3 gives more than enough armor. Then augmented barrage kills everything else.

i recommend everyone try tesla nervous on him with the augment tesla bank has it gives him so much scaling damage and he armor strips so it works quite well :D
gloom also works amazing with tempest barrage. so does breach surge. as a sidenote, aparently, the bullets from the tempest count as headshot... so you can put tempest on harrow now.
You can actually double dip by using Archon Continuity, which will now use viral AND corrosive, plus it’s just a better continuity

Went with nourish on his 2 , so i get viral and corrosive damage on my weapon without modding for it
Gonna use his subsume on Yareli to fulfill water boarding enemies to the extreme
i prefer to use Energy Nexus over equilibrium
in my experience, it's more reliable
even if you don't have any orbs around, all you have to do is wait a few seconds and you can crowd control again, which in turn will get you energy orbs and restart the snowball

Its nuts, they managed to 'mag' hydroid. To explain, mag can pretty much tackle anything in this game without much effort (just a little game knowledge). Her only real weaknesses are cheese bosses that ignore all warframe abilities and you have to brute force them and.... well thats about it. Hydroid falls into that category now, he can't outright tank stuff, can't regen his shields right away or has a massive range aoe cone like mag on top of a huge succ. BUT hydroid trades that for more fluid (haaaa) cc that is practical with how the game played on top of being able to change weapon builds to incorporate more damage or utility. Pedro once again saving warframe

Imo, adding shields to Hydroid is totally useless. Just use his third ability. Slot the augment, it helps a lot cuz you get to heal urself 2.
Healing is kinda shit since you cant heal a oneshot
Which is why shields and overguard are just better, and why overguard used to suck (If enemies just oneshot your overguard without any gate, it may aswell not exist)
No amount of armor and health and DR is enough
@@willydonka1041 most people aren't going to lvlcap anyways. You get thousands of armor with hydroids 3rd ability. Slotting shields on Hydroid just a waste, even as starchart player. The 2nd build with the vault mod is smart though
@@miel307just use brief respite and/or augur mods... It's not like you are going to even lose health or shields to begin with, if you use his 1 and 4, as you should.
Why even use rolling guard when his tidal ability has a 12s immunity mod that also sets the cost to 15
the augment gives "only" status immunity not full immunity

why would you use khora instead of nekros for loot? just equip ripkas, put its mod on, and most bodies will be sliced in at least 2 pieces. you can even subsume aquablades, which works amazing on him, hell, ripkas is so good for slicing bodies, you dont even need a weapon with slash! even something like the ignis will cut bodies with the ripkas mod...
khora has great loot consistantcy
@@noahedenborg4221 and nekros doesnt? he has far more range, works on pretty much the majority of enemies, doesnt need to worry about overguard, has double the range.
and best of all, can proc multiple times from the same target.
strangledome on the other hand doesnt work if you kill something too fast, or even outside her range, while nekros just need to get the corpse in his range.
you can even boost it further with petrify, as that pretty much garantees multiple body parts, and with high enough str, you can get 100% loot from ore gaze.
dunno if pretrify works with khora, as i never tested strangledome on petrified enemies.

Viral Tempest does not do both Corrosive and Viral, it just replaces the corrosive for viral. I might misheard it but I think that is what you're implying at the end of tempest segment.
Yeah I was implying that it changes to viral instead of corrosive so it applies both status effects
