  • The smallest aircraft in the Airbus commercial fleet, the A220 can accommodate between 90 and 120 passengers depending on the configuration.
The SJ-100, commonly referred to as the Sukhoi Superjet 100, is a regional jet with a 4,500-kilometre (2,800-mile) range.
The Russian Industry Ministry reported on Tuesday that a Russian airliner SJ-100 built entirely from domestic parts successfully completed its first flight, demonstrating the stability of the domestic systems.

This is not a correct comparison, the SS 100 is a short-haul aircraft, while the A 220 is already a medium-haul aircraft. This can be seen in weight, fuel capacity, number of passengers, wingspan. The only thing they have in common is the 3+2 seat formula.

The reality: All Russian civil aircraft (e.g. SJ 100, MC 21, TU-204 etc) have so far had significantly higher maintenance costs & downtimes than promised & than competitor aircraft. Therefore their world market share (outside Russia/Belarus/Cuba) is less than 0.1%.
The situation with the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SJ 100): Only 1 was sold in the last 5 years, over 60 were ‘in stock’ in 2020 because returned or not accepted.

The main problems with the SJ 100 were its unreliability & miserable after sales service (poor spare parts supply) and as a result too high operating costs.
This led to the major western customers CityJet and Interjet returning their 45 SJ 100s. The major Russian customer Yamal Airlines also returned its.
Fewer than 100 of the approx. 210 produced aircraft flew in 2019.

Whoever produced or financed this video wants to give the impression that the two planes are both popular and comparable. The fact is, no one is buying this airplane outside of Russia (and even there it's being discontinued). From wikepedia: Yamal Airlines, the second-largest Russian SSJ operator, announced the cancellation of its order for 10 further SSJs, citing high servicing costs.[125] Of 30-40 SSJs owned by Aeroflot, only 10 are reportedly usable at a time due to maintenance problems.[126] Aeroflot cancelled approximately 50 Superjet flights in the week following the Flight 1492 accident.

PD-8 with a new low-emission combustion chamber, which makes it more efficient than SAM-146, from which PD-8 retained the “cold” part, developed and produced in Russia from the very beginning, with a relatively low bypass ratio. On short flights, where climb and descent, engines with a high bypass ratio do not have time to show their effectiveness. SJ-100 is an aircraft for short and medium routes.
The aerodynamics of the wing and the aircraft as a whole are always an advantage of the Russian/Soviet school of aviation... besides, larger diameter engines have greater drag...
Based on a combination of factors, the SJ-100 will have an advantage over the A-220 (C-S), especially in vast Russia, where aviation fuel is generally not expensive)))

Taking into account the growth of the transportation market, both within the country and in friendly countries, more than 2,000 aircraft will be required. MS-21 and SJ-100 have no problems with the volume of orders.
Russia is the most self-sufficient country... Aluminum, steel, titanium, composite components, all assemblies and even electronic components are produced here (not yet of the highest density, but sufficient!!!) The cost of components created in the country’s unified system is often an order of magnitude cheaper. ..
Here is an example: the military budget of the United States and NATO is 20-25 times higher than the military budget of Russia... But Russia is the only country that can eliminate the United States and all the plebeians of the United States within 24 hours... having an absolute advantage in carriers and nuclear charges. .. ROSATOM is the absolute world leader in the nuclear industry ... and a manufacturer of composites (in particular for MS-21).
The US and NATO system is ineffective - it has a HUGE CORRUPTION COMPONENT...
It’s the same with airplanes and engines... PD-8, PD-14... PD-35 are excellent, reliable, economical engines, with low purchase and operating costs, which will ensure their future!
