The Chicago Termalinse new GP35 is Being rebuilt on the spot in the yard. ILSX 1396 Switches calls and heads to Multiple costomers around the very large Elk Grove Vilage Industral park. Its so big, it takes over 4 hours to spot 5 cars - Auta a dopravní prostředky
NIce job and a great day - some good modeling stuff here..
Thanks
Thanks!
Great video. I grew up in bensenville and spent a lot of time watching the milwaukee and c & nw switch those 2 industrial parks. Great to see EGV again. I've always been fascinated by these operations
+Jeffrey Radek Thanks!
I love these vids and that old SW8. Nice video!
+abel wayne Thanks!
Nice vid. But man at the 4:25 mark, they blasted through that crossing pretty fast. No flagging or nothing.
Traffic in both directions was stopped so the crossing was clear.
I get what you're saying. From YOUR vantage point, you could see traffic was stopped. But the switchman didn't have your vantage point. Certainly the engr who's two car lengths back, was in no position to see if the crossing was clear. Not sure if they still operate on that rail today but I can't understand the point of riding the point of a movement to protect the shove, but neglect to flag a crossing that has only crossbuck protection. VERY dangerous. I've seen your vids of the U.P. Morton salt job and they flag the crossing. Even seen one switchman with a fusee flagging the crossing.
awesome!
I am new to trains, this kicks ass!
We're you chasing this switching job on your bike again? If so, you should have legs of iron! Anyway, great catch of the CNW caboose and the Montana Rail Link boxcar!
Hi Joe ,a nother great video bud ,I love the winding sound of the old geep ,gp 10 E?
nice video Chicago Joe 28 and great catch of the engine's moving the cars around.
+Mike Troina Thanks!
Your welcome.
Thanks!
Thanks! and yes. this video is available in High Definition.
WOW 1:45 I have been 2 Elk Grove many times but I never saw the up loco's working. What day of the week was this & what time?
Thank you! And yah some sort of GP10
Thanks! And they run pretty early. The crew goes on duty 6am on week days.
The locomotive looks like an former IC Paduca Geep with the frog eye headlights.
ThundercatDarklion yup. Its an old IC engine
+Chicagojoe28 is it a GP 8 or GP 10
+thomasabramson100 its a GP9 converted to a GP10
+Chicago Joe just wondering if you ever got a cab ride ????????????????
I've seen 6a.m. spot Signode in Glenview back in the 1990's . Times have changed Signode is not what it used to be. Milepost 16.82 is now 17 something. Elk Grove is mainly Raillink employees.
Nops. im not sure but i think it goes north somewhere as a road switcher.
Nice video! That geep sounded amazing! Do you know what route the 6 A.M. job takes?
Great video as always. I thought you had an HD camera?
Anyone notice the crossbuck at 4:33?
Could be because I used two different Cameras. Im going to Upload a CSS video soon shot from my Canon 60Din a few days: that might be a little better. we will have to see.
haha I was and thanks!
haha good one!
Why did they lose the Elk Grove contract?
Hey Chicago Joe I am a member of a train club that meet's @ 7pm on Friday night's @ 4501 n. clarendon in Chicago. come on by. I have some more info about Elk Grove.
3:40 what's the name of the horn? I'm just wondering..
It just seems kind of "fuzzy" even in HD?
umm what?
At 2:00 a CNW caboose .Hope its going to a museum not a scrap yard anyone have any info ?
The UP uses it as a shoving platform. Safer for crews to protect the end of train going in reverse
Scab outfit that stole our Elk grove yard jobs. Conductor mounted the loco using the wrong foot too.
Screw unions.
ON DIRAIT LES hld 5500 BELGES ; VU LEURS BRUIT;;;
Thanks!
