- Fresh out of the box and into my destructive paws this super fancy 12 inch powered subwoofer gets trashed, I see what it takes to blow the driver in this Velodyne EQ-Max 12 - A long time greatly reviewed sub that nearly survived my torture tests! These video clips were on a camera card that I had lost... I even forgot I did this
"450 watt dynamic amplifier and down-firing port go as low as 25 Hz while output up to 135 Hz at 3dB" --- Yeah this thing was LOUD
People need to look at these videos from another angle. It took mains power to kill it, and even then it didn't blow immediately. This is obviously a well made driver, the manufacturer should love this for showing how much abuse it takes!
Will probably buy this knowing I could crank it up max whit out it destroying it self.
especially because assuming it an 8Ohm driver, that thing took about 1900w from the outlet

I've got a Velodyne Digital Drive 12 with servo controller and has remote control and microphone, I bought it third hand. the driver still hits like a truck after two decades. the whole cabinet has been dropped, the amp has been replaced then repaired but the driver is indeed indestructible. the surround is super thick and rigid, it's like touching a car tire. the force that the coil must have to move that cone is indeed impressive

I also have a Velodine 10 powered sub and I love it it's a beast, I've been hammering on it for a few years now and it still sounds good.

No defeat,very low load conected to amp,look overload led to point 3 knob,short out speakers 2+2 ohm (1 ohm),no desing to drive load under 4ohm-drop power

You are not going to blow up a velodyne powered sub in its stock form, it just isn't going to happen. They are built and designed very well. They do one thing, and they do it very well. They are not cheap crappy speakers, I think my 10" back in 2005 cost me like 400 bucks. Once you pull the plate off the back and wire it directly to the driver it is no longer as the speaker was designed so who knows what will happen. You ruined the dampening of the box and bypassed all the protection, crossovers and amp that was designed to drive it. And it still didn't blow, that is pretty impressive in its self to me. Where did you get this that you were willing to destroy it? If you hadn't got to extremes to ruin it you could have sold it to someone for a pretty decent price lol.
I'm a fan a velodyne subs since I got my little 8 I wanna get a bigger one this really shows what it can take

Once when you said that changing the camera didn't change the video quality "maybe because of the editor,, try using hitfilm express(same amount of functions as in adbobe premiere but only a little less it has keyframing,green screen,dent effects,lens effects,coloring,masking,keyframing and so on with support up to I think 4k 30fps video in the express version) and if it doesn't help continue in using the same editor

Any rattling heard in the video is everything rattling in the room not the subwoofer itself subwoofers don't make rattling sounds when you try to blow them although that subwoofer didn't want to blow on the peavy pro audio amp that subwoofer took longer to blow on the wall outlet of course

He's bored, he's got better speakers and so do all his friends probably. He would probably be better off selling it to be honest. Smoke show wasn't that great.

if it took 120v ac to blow it thats a good speaker, however that must have been a dc power because the driver was puling inwards

Why the fuck blow an amazing subwoofer? I own a Velodyne IMPACT-10 150 watt powered subwoofer and by far it's the best 300 dollar price range sub on the market bar none. Easilly hits 20HZ and produces exceptionally smooth bass and very high output. Velodyne isn't a bad company at all and their products are insanely well built

Maybe he has very good stereo speakers that he listens to for music that don't require a sub . Subs create " boomy" bass that's more suited for movie watching or rap but other than that they are not needed with a pair of good speakers .
I prefer kef its on a 8' woofer though but its 1000 watts so like meh :/

I have much bigger amps, CS-1200, PV 1.3K (2000w) just for old junk I wont mind burning out But the 800 is from the original line up where they actually let speakers overload
If you have good Stereo Speakers you don't need a powered sub , I can't stand powered subs as I dislike the " boomy " bass they provide . . That shit is for watching movies to make the room shake is all they're needed for , unless you are a diehard fan of Hip Hop or Rap music I guess .

*xd* a good friend kill this sub with his Roland E-drum how -> direct from the Module in to the sub - no limiting or so and he use double bass drum. After some training lessons, the sub was dead. Ok Punk is extreme^^ fast in loud with doublebass.
