For a customer, the product is the product. For an investor, the company is the product.
Nice, thanks
For my own notes, then, the thing I should be pitching in SUS calls is the AR version of the app, not the "mTailor"ing. "Djin.ni takes a video of your body through your smartphone and let you try on clothes in AR"

Just how I like it.
YCombinator
I wrote up the questions in the investor pitch:
1. What do you do?
2. How far along are you?
3. How big is the market?
4. How will you charge users?
5. What do you know that other's don't?
6. Who is on your team?
Did it work 100% of the time for all Investors? When did it work best?
This video is actually great for new apllicants, thanks YC for having lots of resources of information!
Applicable knowledge straight to the point…Thank you!
I also appreciate there is no noise, loud intro, background soundtrack or stretched ending, it was simply easy to listen to…
I fully agree. Hate all the distracting sounds on other videos.
Thank you very much for doing this. The best channel that i seen!
Why not make these small nuggets a weekly endeavor? very useful
I agree! Love these.
Fantastic stuff Michael! Short and to the point...
omg. Love it! Thx for being straight and short.
Thank you for doing these .
Nice work as always!
Love the the clear, concise content Michael!
Man, YC is the dream accelerator. You guys should really setup offices outside of the valley. You'd do wonders in Toronto/Waterloo.
Y Combinator is the dream paradise for every startup.
No product market fit is.
very articulate, clear points, great content.
This is amazing, a problem so many founders face!
I love these short monologue type video. please make more

Thank you! My gut was saying they should be different and this confirms it.
Super helpful. Michael is amazing

Thanks you!
The explanations are helpful
Great video
Great, thanks Michael! Besides those two pitches, could you please also do a short video on a pitch for competitions, a pitch for potential employees, a pitch for key partners and others that are slightly less 'obvious'?

Customers: Solution of their problem
Investors: Vision of the company
who are the 11 idiots that disliked this? This is *REALLY* good advice, thanks.
For investor, the product is the company’s stock. For customer, it is its product. Movie pass is maybe an example of a product that people love but not investors
Good info as always from YC 😎
this is actually something very useful to know
Great video post. Thanks Michael. I laughed when you said 'it's a platform'.... and will never say that again. Cheers!
It would be great if you could show us on a few examples how we can improve a pitch and what are the usual weak points.
True, I'd like to see this as well. Knowing and being aware of weak points can make or break a pitch.
and also an investor also always asks, why your customers like your product ?
and what they like in your product ?
Investors are always very interested in customers opinion.
Kind regards. Miloš Beltram
Great incite right there

Specify the goal and need money
Do all products have to solve a problem? How about something people like to consume/use?
Javier Zapata intensity of the problem you are solving is proportional to how fast and how big the company can grow.
And that’s what investors care about.
A nice to have product will grow at a slower rate and likely end up being a lifestyle business and not a startup. There is nothing wrong with that if that’s what you are looking for, just they are not suitable for the high growth startup.
🅱oy got that new 🅱arsity 🅱acket damnnn lookin good seibel

Idea: Customer pitch does not work for Investors
## Customer Pitch
- Jargon builds credibility. Use jargons
- They should be talking more than you.
- Figure out how the solutions helps them personally.
Where to use?
- Sales call.
- Front page of website
- Help / FAQ
- User interviews
## Investors Pitch
- Jargon is confusing.
Drop it,
- Language they can understand. Explain it simply.
- Avoid marketing language - unique, awesome platform, great product.
#### Where to use?
- Not on website
- Non for customers
- Only in pitch deck
#### What investors care?
- What do you do?
- How far along are you? - Stage 1,2,3
- How big is the market? -
- How will you charge users?
- What do you know that others don't? - Competitive advantage
- Who is on your team? Founders, can build the product?
#### What customers care about?
- Functionality
- Onboarding process
- How does the pricing apply to them?
- Does it solve their specific problem
I thought this was a comedy skid from the title.
Very good and funny videos bring a great sense of entertainment!
