Could I please ask what your graph editor settings are as I cannot see the arcs just the handles at the bottom.

You just need to change the type of the graph editor! You have the SPEED and VALUE graph, you can change it by clicking on the little icon on the bottom (just click around I'm sure you find it) there you can manually change the type of graph that is beeing displayed!
