What's good Element fam!
We took Blue out for a camping trip this past weekend for Easter. We were able to finally set up the annex that comes with our roof top tent. We had been holding off on setting it up until we actually had a need for it but can definitely see ourselves using the annex a lot more in the future.
If you are in the market for a Roof Top tent check out Guana Equipment. They have so many different products for your off-road needs . Our favorite tent is the Wanaka 55" Roof Top Tent Setup With XL Annex- 3 Person Size. We have used it for a year now and it always impresses us and turns heads when we open it up.

We're always finding new places to explore in SoCal. Let us know in a comment, what is your ideal overlander setup?
I always knew the element was something special but this is next level! Awesome content 👍👍
Thanks for checking out our channel. Yes the elements are very popular they have a huge following.
That’s what my oem tent is for like a living room cooking room etc bro keep it up man ur E is going places bro
I didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you for the kind words bro 🙏
That is so cool! Wow! Really the way to go! 🤩🤩
It's a good option to elevate the experience but it's not necessary to have a good time 😁
Great job on the review.
Thank you so much!
Loving the channel man! Keep the great content coming!!!
Thank you so much really appreciate the kind words. More to come soon 🤙
It's nice to see that there are still some people who can keep camping to what it used to be: sleeping in a tent. These days it seems like far too many people think going camping is pulling something with beds, a kitchen and a bathroom behind their $60K or more pickup truck. If you're gonna sleep in an RV, you might as well just go to a hotel!
I see alot of folks with very nice fancy RV just hang out inside rather then enjoy nature. Nothing wrong with that every one enjoys their own thing but I agree.
Some of those people maybe have a handicap person inside the trailer and need ac bath and kitchen. Not everyone can sleep comfortably in a tent without mentioning about equipment like cpap machines that need electricity to work.
I love that tent!!!!!!
Us too. Guana Equipment is such a great company. They are so helpful with any questions too. They have a great time and amazing customer service. Check their website sometimes if you order a tent they will give you a mini fridge or an awning.
Awesome setup! The tent looks really nice. I would love to try one of them one day. I'm glad you're liking it.
Dude thank you so much 🙏 It's been a cool experience having one. There's still a lot more that this tent comes with that we haven't been able to use. Next time I'm going to set up the 3 awnings that come with the annex.
That’s sick!!
Thank you 😁 We have really been enjoying it more each time.
Oh you have a blue one that’s so cool I was gonna get an orang one but we knows about those problems
I didn't know how much I would like the blue until we got it. It looks great when it's clean and detailed. Oh yeah ? So no element after all ?
@@ReadySetElement no I got the black one
@@bribirdee7097 That's right how have you been enjoying your car so far ?
Hey guys looks great. We also have an element and was wondering how long you guys have used your roof top tent? And if you'd had any problems with handling and power with a tent on top the toaster? Wind, highway travel ect. Also if any harm come to the roof rack.
Cheers! Thank you Todd!
Hi Todd Packer that's awesome you guys have an Element also. Yes we have owned our tent almost a year now and we only put ours on when we are going on a trip. I tend to never leave to tent on the roof if we aren't going out for the reason I don't want any attention to the car. When we do have it on and we have gone very far with our tent over 3 hour drive it handled so well. Our Guana equipment tent is so well made the materials are amazing. Yes the MPG will go down a few but it's not much. To be real honest when it's on the roof you forget its there and thats saying something. It weights 150 pounds and you don't notice it much. Feel free to reach out to us or send us a direct message on Instagram @readysetelement 👍
Intersting setup. I wonder if this could work on my van.....SUBBED!
Chico thanks for following us!
Yes definitely could work on your van. I've seen a few vans with roof top tents and even sprinter vans too just need to upgrade the ladder. I wish we had standing room in our car but we make it work.
Use a rubber mat under the ladder. All tents get dust and dirt. That's where a handi vac or hand broom comes in handy. Normal issue.
Nice tent set up but too much for me. I'd prefer the clam attachment tent from the back. You get that extra living room w/ easy set up.
I agree with you 100%, I've tried getting my hands on one of them but they are hard to find. I just posted a video today tell me what you think of the setup 😁
Wow. I love this very much. Is there a weight limit?
Could you link the roof bars you used please.
Supper fancy
It's so roomy and comfy literally our home away from home haha.
@@ReadySetElement dude that thing is baaaaad. When we do our trip I’ll be the poor mans style lol!
We just use a SUV tent off the back or side doors or stand-alone depending on site layout. We like to see what others are doing.
This is so cool!! I need this
If you go with thr Guana Equipment brand let me know I can message the team to get you a discount or even a free awning ✌️
@@ReadySetElement i appreciate it! im shopping around but for sure I will DM you if I choose to go with Guana. Unfortunately their website shows a lot of them sold out
Yeah thry run out fast but let me know I can always reach out to them. They are based out of Costa Rica and I know it's been hard to get certain materials.
Would have been awesome to have met up on the road!
I know man that would be cool!
South East Louisiana checking in. 2005 Element doin great in da swamps and da bayous. What's your Element?
Hey Joshua nice to meet you and your 05 element. Ours is a 04 with 190k miles here in Southern California 😁
A couple of furniture sliders under the ladder feet will prevent punctures.
That's a great idea thank you! 😁
Someone probably already said this but you could get some doormats right outside the entrance (and one under the ladder to protect the floor…or put a rug inside - that’s what I do with my regular tent!).
Tell me why I didn't think of that lol 😅 Thanks for sharing, that's why YT is great.
Who was the person that had that mobile market? That looked awesome! Can you give the name so I can look them up?
What if a strong wind came and your upstairs?
We stayed at Joshua tree and had strong winds and all I had to do was put the stakes down with the ties it comes with and had zero issues.
This is cool, but it what is the advantage of having it coming off the car as to just having a regular tent set up next to your car?
Awesome review! I’ve got a 2009 and have been shopping around for RT’s. Curious what rack system you installed? Appreciate you time! 🙏
Hey there 👋
Sorry never saw this message. Would you like to know more about the roof top Tents?
We have the guana Equipment Roof Top Tent.
Looks like a nice set up but impractical for me as I live in the city and no storage space.
Yeah this is great for camping trips not so much city living.
@@ReadySetElement yep even though I park in an indoor garage people may be tempted . Nice setup though.
What is the weight limit for the roof? If the rack plus tent is about 150 lbs, plus two people. Wouldn't it be too heavy?
Just saw this comment, so that's what I thought too! Before I purchased the racks I asked the company who makes the roof rack if those would be okay and they said yes. I don't know how it works exactly but when the tent is open the weight is distributed evenly or something like that. All I know I've used it for 1 year no problems and have had 3 people on the racks. Just confirm with the manufacturer before you buy. Hope this helps thanks for watching 😁
I think the weight limit is for when you are driving and have to make a sharp turn or sudden stop, the load on top doesn't shear off the roof rack
Wat roof rack do you have?
What is your mpg with the tent on top?
Currently about 20-22 smiles per gallon, is what I call it 😁
You could put a rubber mat for under the ladder legs
Yes that's what we started doing now 👍
The problem with this kind of system is when you want to go somewhere after camp is setup.
Yeah I agree. That has been the case for us or if you want to move to a different spot. That's why I think the hard shell tents are easier to out away and move quickly.
@@ReadySetElement how long does it take to install/uninstall?
I definitely need someone to help me out to install it on the rack but once it's installed, to setup is about less then 5 minutes.
@@ReadySetElement thanks for the info!
Are you using factory crossbars or do you have a rtt rack? My wife has an E and I was wondering if I can put my rtt on it.
Do not use the OEM bars they will not handle the weight of a RTT. I am using the ones that look like the factory bars but are alot stronger. They are called ANTS roof bars from Amazon. They have mixed reviews online but after using them for over a year now honestly isn't bad for the price. I like them and I saved alot of money.
Hope this helps you out. Really appreciate you watching and leaving a comment. It helps out so much. If you have any other questions let me know or send me a DM on Instagram. I'm always glad to help out 🤙
Awesome thanks for the reply I'll check them out!
@@Fixxit81 Here to help 🙏
@@ReadySetElementjust got my Element in January. Its currently all stock original, no roof racks (yet). Are these these the ones you bought: "Roof Rack for 2003-2011 Honda Element Cross Bars Top Luggage Carrier OE Style"
素晴らしい👍
This would fit a 2005 honda crv ?
Most definitely would just need a roof bar or rack system. I'm using ones from Amazon that hold the weight 🙌
pretty expensive really. cool but a couple grand is kinda silly
Roof tops can be a little pricey. I wouldn't say it's needed for camping trips. I often end up not using it and just sleeping inside the car with the platform we have. There are way more affordable tents out there though. It all depends what you want from them. The most expensive tents I've seen are the hardshell tents. Like roof nest or ikamper.
You are right though it is expensive. Considering how many times you might actually be using it.
