Been thinking about picking up a 2024 850 sportsman, and I've been watching a few of your videos. I love how straightforward you are with explaining and teaching. I'm from upstate NY too 😂 I grew up about 10 minutes away from the Tug Hill area
Just bought a second hand 2020 850 with 4000 kms on it from a dealer. The dealer couldn't tell me if or when all the fluids were changed, so to be safe I'm going ahead and changing out everything. Never owned an atv before so channels like this one are a Godsend...Thanks for the info.
I have a 2018 850 HO w/ over 6,000 miles on it, I did have to replace the fuel pump, everything that can be upgraded has been and I maintain the hell out of it. The only thing I haven't replaced yet is the bearings, I also grease those a few times a year and they've held up so far. I don't think that when your average person buys one of these machines they understand the upkeep and mods a person needs to do to make these as durable as you can for their style of riding. I put every Cecco brace I could on mine, replaced all the bushings, added power steering, clutch kit, A-Arm and skid plate protectors, Bison front and back bumpers, upgraded neon lights, etc. I only use non ethanol gas in mine and switched to an Uni air filter and change the fluids when needed. It costs a bit of money and time to maintain these beasts, but it's worth it
My 2005 has 5800 miles and 1180 hours. Runs like a top. Issues: replaced stator 2) ball joints 3) all bushings 4) sure power ecm replaced 4) universal joints replaced 5) adjuted valves regularly 6) replaced starter twice (used 30.00 amazon starters) 7) one new belt 8) broke 3 out of 4 axles. But.... It runs like a top! 😂😂❤ Oh! And replaced gid knows how many CV boots. I primarily work off mine, lots of firewood hauled on trailrer etc
Go for it, the sp is a nice model with all the features and the HO 850. I’ve got my 2016 Sportsman 850sp still I bought it new. Haven’t had any issues with it just basic maintenance. It still rides, looks and handles like it did new. And lots of smooth power.
Great vid. Great thoughts. I have 1400 miles on a 2019 sportsman 850. Had to replace a-arm bushings on most recent trip. Now either right rear wheel Bearing or axle is clacking. Have both in stock at the home garage. Hope it’s just the bearing. Honestly didn’t know they were greasable till recently. Watched ur video on how to do it. Will dig in next free weekend. Thanx for the knowledge. Love ur vids.
I have a 14 i love it but i only have 1200 miles on it and bought it new so i know how it is taken care of wouldn't trade for any other machines rides better than any other one i have ever rode
i got a 2022 450.. glad they switched to the automotive style bushings. less maintenance . but still have the play in the sway bar .. not sure how to tackle that issue yet. but isnt a problem yet.
That is an EXTREMELY high price in my personal opinion. I paid $6000 for my 2018 with 70 miles on it. You also are going to have to pay tax buying it from a dealer. And with that many miles there will be NO guarantee of any reliability. Private sale you can pick one up with half that mileage for the same money or less.
Granted, things I have changed a lot in the used market since 2019 when I got mine. But still, with mileage like that, unless it was religiously maintained it's going to be a basket case. I would try to find one wt lower mileage.
Hello from . I have a polaris 850 efi 2013. when I turn it on it stays on for 4 seconds. If I try to accelerate it,i heard strange sounds . Have you encountered problems like this??

I have 12000kms on my 2017 and it has been great with no motor problems
I'm looking at buying a 2015 850 sp and this video definitely helps to know what to look for, and what to expect.

@@Polarisxcr700I have a question what rear sway bar bushings should I run on my 2018 sportsman 850 sp? One is pretty much destroyed
Looking to buy one tomorrow. Thanks for the video.
No problem! Glad I could help! If you have any additional questions feel free to ask!
I put 14,000 kms on a 2013 and put in one belt, bearings twice, bushings once, headlights twice and I rode fairly hard through rough trails.
and ball joints once.

Ignition switch was a problem on a lot of them also ! That was my only issue with bad parts
Quick question what rear bushings did you go with?. I have a 2018 Sportsman 850cc and need rear sway bar bushings.
where did you get your replacment pinion cover. My stock one has held up fine for 1500 miles.
I am looking at a 2022 Polaris Sportsman 850 Premium with 257 miles. It looks pretty clean. Is for sale for $8k. Thoughts?
I get it now I'm dealing with square heads
I'm 2021 they revamped the whole machine
Where did you get the fuel cell and how did you mount it?
It was off eBay. And it's garbage. Get a rotopax.
I’m looking at a 2017 this week with 2550 miles at a dealer for 7k what you think about the price is that fair for the mileage

What sounds? And does it turn off only when you give it gas. It sounds like a throttle position sensor. Describe the sounds.
@@Polarisxcr700 Do you have Instagram or Facebook and I'll send you a video. That way you understand better😁😁😁
When you switch to 4wd is it real 4wd or is the front diff open?
Real 4x4
So should I stick with buying Suzuki instead lol
Was gonna get the big boss 6x6 but probably not now polaris seems like junk compared to can am brp
My 19 850 has been nothing but a Pos, something is going on with it , keep failing fuel pumps
