- Today I'm sharing 50 cards I made using a bag of scraps that I had cut down and made little kits out of. I share several different ways to use the scraps and share the method that worked for me.

Um, yes, I definitely need to take my scraps and dies, and make some basic shapes.
Love those circles!
I'm making little kits right now. I'm putting the pieces in those plastic card sleeves. Then when I finish them, with bling, sentiments, etc, I'll put them right back into the sleeves to keep them nice till I use, or donate them.
How about cutting those circles in half, and layer different sizes of them, and turn one set around, end to end, to make other embellishments. It's a good way to make a horizontal embelly with a flower, etc between the half circle layers. Have all the half circles meet together at one point to give a contemporary dimensional look. There are all sorts of ways to play with those puppies.😊 I have even wrapped the edges of circles over slightly smaller squares to make a quilt look to a card, and adhere them down next to each other. They aren't so obviously circles that way, either.

Thanks! Yes, sometimes I’ll sit down with cardstock scraps and punch flowers, hearts, circles etc. it’s nice to have them on hand at times.

As you were flipping thru I thought, oh, I like that one, oh, I like that one...repeat many times! I took all my branding and narrow strips for spring break. I didn’t make 50!! Think I did about 20 though. TFS 💙

I know how you feel. About scraps! Been there, am there! I try to use all my offcuts from album making, Scrap-booking and card making up and sometimes it feels like the scraps have become like rumplestiltskin, more and more and more and grumpy with it! Bahahaha...16 years! I owned a scrapbook store in the late 90's, so I have Mrs. Grossman's and the original MAMBI stickers, Frances Meyer, Paper Patch, Northern Spy, KMA Papers still in the hoard vault. I love seeing that old stuff :) great job using those scrappy bits! tfs, Laura

Love these. I am using scraps to first cover thank you cards from the thrift stores. . Now I kind of know how to kick them up a notch. It’s hard as covering a pile of different cards with b scraps. Now I can try to do punches and maybe. Not as many circles. Thanks.

I love your card from scraps and using up DSP videos. I follow them closely cause I am trying to use up a ton of DSP myself. Love the different sketches you use and how many of each card you pull together. Please keep this series going. I need all the help I can get to get rid of this DSP and donate these cards.

Very nice!! I love how they look so vintage-y!! (I did a WOW when you told us the date of that sticker-2003!!??😂 My oldest granddaughter was 2!!) I’ve only been crafting since Jan 2015, when a dear friend (now passed) gave me her die cut machine and other goodies!!
I know, right? I’m pretty sure I’ve had that sticker pack since i started scrapbooking 16 years ago!🙄

You have given me some great ideas and inspiration in using up my scraps! I am currently finishing up a 6x6 paper pad (the one I used for Crafty Al's August sheetload) and I do have a bunch of scraps left over. I also find the card sketches to be very helpful at this stage of the game. I am also doing the use it up challenge you have going for yourself. I have so much paper, and I really want to use up a whe pad before diving into another. You have shown me some great examples of things to make, and I especially love the sticky note covers! I did make my first one, however, I was out of velcro so I need to get more! Love love love your creations! I always look forward to your videos! Looking forward to seeing your fall creations! Loved you video. I learned so much. I am now following your channel. How do you cut your fish tail strips?
Yvonne, cut a slit from the end of the card as far into the center as you want the banner to go. Then on the same end, cut a angle from each outward edge toward the slit you cut in the center. Remove the middle, and you have the fishtail.

Nice selection of cards! I'm only now starting to use sketches and am curious how you choose yours. I noted the 3 different companies you mentioned. Do you just stay with those, or Google them, or ...?
I find them on Pinterest usually. And I’m not tied to any specific companies. I just use what I think might work for the cards or scraps I’m working with. 😀

This was VERRRY helpful. I am a paper hoarder and am overwhelmed with scraps. So, I think that Its time to bust “em. What do you mean by making card kits?
Thanks for watching! I’m glad I could give you some ideas! I took my big bag of scraps, sorted them and cut them down into various strips, squares or circles. Then I put all like shapes into a new baggie. That way I could just pull out the baggie of circles and make cards with just those. It made it less overwhelming to deal with one type of scrap at a time.
I know Grace Tolman does a video with homemade kits. She picks the paper, (usually left over pads) a few dies, one or two stamp sets and a few coordinating ink pads.

Aw, thank you!!! In the description of the video, I listed all of the sketches I used as well as a link to my Pinterest board where I store all of my saved card sketches. If you are on Pinterest, you can look for the list of sketches in my board. If you're not on Pinterest, you can use the list of sketches and Google each sketch name.
