A wonderful way to spend 45 minutes. ..envisioning a beautiful piece with you and observing your process of creating it your way. ...I love what I see with a "new eye," a new perspective.....enjoyable, interesting, and encouraging....you never fail to make me smile and I thank you for that.
Love how you repurposed the jewelery box for craft supplies! You did a great job with the tag, I want to try it as well.
I've decided to try this with a honey bee theme, using yellow, orange, & gold colors!
I so enjoy watching you diagnose a project and showing us alternative idea Thank you.
You can cut of the corners of an old giftcard at different angles and use it as a template for cutting the corners of tags. Find it way easier than holding the cut corners.
Did you try to color your texture paste before using it on a project? 🙂
Yes, that’s what I meant with making a template 👍🏻😃. Yes, I did that on other projects 😊
Oh yes! A series would be great. I like watching how changing something in little ways, it becomes your own beautiful style.
Great process. How to take someone else's idea and put your own spin on it. I love this!
Yes! Make a series....it’s good to see the substitutions you make when you don’t have something that was used on the inspiration piece.
I loved this! I am always collecting Pinterest ideas, but don't have the same stuff they used. You are so correct, that a lot of us have so many supplies already, that we should use what we have and not buy more.
Ooh! I love your treasure box!! What an awesome idea to use your jewelry box! 🥰
you could probably use puffy paint ( something like the liquid pearls line) to make faux brads and colour them with your fav gilding wax. probably cheaper and less bulk and weight for journal ephemera !
Love your tag! You could dye the twine for a darker color with a dark ink, and possibly split the same twine to place on the charm. Very nice and I enjoyed your thought processes as you made the tag. TFS
A series would be great! I love the analysis approach. Very nice tag and inspiring video. Thanks so much!
I am a watercolor artist. I believe that she use the yellow watercolor and then you sprinkle little dots of water over it and that will look like what she did
I loved watching you create this tag! It was different but similar in a lot of ways. Your style always shines through! I would like to see you do this again. As a matter of fact I will be watching this video over again. Your work is amazing! Hugs💕
I made texture paste using a similar recipe and absolutely love it. And the baby powder makes it smell good too. Mine is YEARS old and I checked it recently and it had gotten too hard to use properly so I added a small amount of water and stirred, stirred, stirred. I was able to bring it back good as new! FYI. I love all your videos Barbara and wait anxiously for them. You are so inspirational. 😘❤️
Thank you! How cool that you were able to revive your texture paste! 😃👍🏻❤️
This is super sweetie 🥰 back when I did digital scrapbooking we called this a scrap lift 😁 and is so great for days without inspiration and for learning new things along the way. 🥰 thank you for inspiring us. Big hug 💕 oh and YES please do more of these
I love your videos, your calming voice and your sense of humor! You are a great artist, but you are light hearted/humble about it unlike some that think too highly of themselves :) Coming to the tag, I absolutely loved your inspiration tag as well as your version of it. If I may...the original tag in Pinterest is 6.25" x 3.125" (size 8 from Ranger). One can cut that manually from a Manila file folder imho. As far as the background goes, it's TH distress inks blended and water flicked using the mini spray bottle by Inkessentials (or easily using fingers). It gives those water droplets that dry permanently. Sorry, I am not pretending to know it all but I have done these exact backgrounds by following the videos on TH website/youtube channel. Those black nut like items, it can be made using paper clay and then painted black/gray etc. I've made molds out of real nuts/bolts/cogs and other items from the tool box. Pressed air dry clay in the molds for steampunk style projects. I hope you don't mind my long comment. Keep inspiring me! Loving all your projects as new subbie.
Thank you for your kind words and analysis of the original tag. In my opinion it doesn’t really matter what size the tag is and it also actually doesn’t matter what was used, but rather this was about being inspired and finding creative ways to come up with a similar look and using what you have 😃.
Love the tag idea. Thanks. Yes, I would love a tag series. 😻
What a great idea Barbara! Your tag turned out beautifully! I really want to try this!
Thank you Barbara. I loved this video. Loved the idea and the tag you made. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing more :)

Beautiful as always Barbara. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Yes please for more in a series ! I love how you analyzed the original but took and made it your own and found ways to use things that you have to make it all come together! Beautiful Barbara... love you too! 😘😘
You did a wonderful job! I love dragonflies and butterflies so I will make both! Thank you for sharing this! I'm excited to get started! 💜💙🧡💛💚💖
This was great fun to watch. Definitely do this again. You ended up with a beautiful tag.
I liked your video today. You did a great job in using the original tag and then making one like it. I would be interested in seeing more videos like this one.
Wow! Love it! Such a great idea and a beautiful tag! TFS the inspiration and please do try it again!
I would love you do more like this. How funny is it that I just bought a stamp set yesterday with the perfect size dragonfly
Very pretty results. A series would be great.
You did a wonderful job on YOUR tag. My problem is if I go to all that trouble making a beautiful tag like yours I want to keep it, ha ha ha.
Thanks Ida! Nothing wrong with hoarding your beautiful tags! Put them in a journal! ☺️
I L❤VE seeing your process!
When I have glossy pieces like the O stickers, I use fine sandpaper gently to make them matte. It makes the ink or watercolor look great.
Beautiful! I love everything Tim Holtz, too! Every quarter, I receive the Somerset Studio magazine and I make at less one project similar to one in magazine. There is always something to learn in these makes and what I learn is used in other makes.
Love your tag!!! Your explanation on how you think the original tag is build up is very helpful and now by this video I can make one. I would love a series and will look in to Tina's as well. We can never have to much inspiration haha.
Thanks Yvon! Happy this was helpful and hope you enjoy making your tag! ❤️
I love your butterfly tag! See more like this please! Tyfs
Stunning Barbara. I love how you looked from the bases up, where I would look from the top - down.
So fun...you were like a skillful detective solving a mystery...would love a series!! 🕵🏻♀️💖🦋
You make a great detective! That was so fun watching you analyze and then see what you had that would give a similar feel. Would love to see more of this from you! I personally can't go on Pinterest very often. Too many rabbit holes, and I end up watching cats play the piano, unlikely animal best friends, or something else that's so far from where I started that I can't even remember what I was looking for in the first place.
As an aside, I was yelling at you, "But Barbara, you *DO* have a date stamp! Your vintage roller one from YCS box!" Next time I'll yell louder 😉
Thanks so much! Your comment about the Pinterest rabbit hole really made me laugh! 😂 Yes, please louder next time! 😃😂
So beautiful! Thanks for sharing, and please show us more!
A gorgeous tag, i love its...story. And, yes, a series of lost and found inspiration would be very much appreciated.
And a little thank you for your inspiration, other kind, from long time ago, when one of the prompts in your journal referred to health - when i decided to improve my health in small steps. So i quit smoking (almost 2 months) and everything is changed. I said a small thank you because is here, just written, but is actually a huge one, from my heart! Much love!🤗💞💞💞🤗
Thanks so much Klaire! OMg you rock!!!! So proud of you for making those health changes! You go, girl!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes! I would LOVE to see a series in this!!!!!! I NEED all the help I can get!!!!! This tag turned out so beautiful!!!!

Love how you made this yours. Also love that you kept the mistake in to show what not to do. The butterfly is beautiful. You also point out many times that measurements someone else used isn’t necessary. Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sweety, love your 🏷 😍😍😍
Often I feel ‘au contraire‘ because I have so many ideas that I can't get it all or sometimes I feel overwhelmed...it is what it is and I do my best 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Now I'm still doing a project that I have planted ( in my head ) some month ago...to make pockets with tags for all the old lady's in my community because
I'm volunteers and it's so beautiful to make the lady's, who were alone or sick, smile 😀😍😀😍
I made 11 and now I will go on to make finally 30 or more 🙈🙈🙈
Hugs my dear 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks sweetie! Oh what an amazing project!!! You are so sweet! I hope you enjoy making the rest! ❤️

Love your creation! Thanks for this inspiring video and please make more
This was great Barbara! Loved seeing how you analyzed what the other artist did and used the inspiration and what you had on hand to make your own interpretation! I know you are busy but I recommend watching some Tim Holtz videos on Facebook's. He teaches a lot about his inks as and how to achieve the best effects with them.
Thanks Pat! I have watched some of those, but need to watch more. They are just sooooo long hahaha.
Would love to see more !
lots of steps, you did a great job deconstructing it. Beautiful

Great idea to use the things I have or have forgotten about.
Love how you use an inspiration and made it your own. No one can really replicate this type of artistry but you came very close but true to yourself. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful gift of creativity with what you have and not what you need to buy. Watching I see products on display that are beautiful but wouldn’t use them again. I love repurposed items especially in my journals. A little paint a little imagination and some patience and amazing it is. Thank you for sharing
I would love to see you do more tutorials like this. Your tag is amazing.
Yes I would like to see more of these kinds of videos. Love your channel.
Thanks Ruth! You can find a few of these on my channel! ☺️
