Great Video, I had to purchase a new deep well pump and it wouldn't prime. so I had to pull 45 feet of 1 1/4" PVC pipe out of the well and replace the leather seals. Pump works great now.
What size was your downpipe casing?
2 inch pvc
Ok Good showing of Leather replacement but no need to really stretch them normally.
Only one or three wraps of Teflon tape is needed to tighten and seal the threads.
Always replace the foot valve when you have to replace the leathers or else you will be pulling the jet again.
The jet doesn't have to be joint breaking tight and you can crack PVC adapters if overtightened.
Also try not to use pvc couplings when reinstalling the jet pipe they are too weak when pulling and can break.
You usually want to just pull jet pipe out and put in a tree or over a roof to not break and just reinstall.
If the pipe is really old its better to just replace and use the factory bell ends with new crown adapters.
Got a question. I got this packer well set up. And jet pump works fine pulls water and fills my tank. But pressure switch won't shut off pump. Tried adjusting no change. Could this mean I need to pull jet and inspect and reseal ? It sounds like it's not tight, just not sure whether at the top or bottom?
How to get pressure switch on pump to start working ??

They use Teflon as a sealing medium because they don’t have plumber’s putty and have never heard of pipe dope. I know because I witnessed it and practice the same awful technique myself. There is no pipe dope to be found and it’s super frustrating, believe me!
This is just a d.i.y. amateur work of ours. I used an awful lot of teflon to prevent leaks and as Brian Oglow said: i used it as a “sealing medium” so as to avoid leaks.

Thanks Matthew Price! Those are worth less than $0.5 from where i’m from haha that’s why i used a lot to avoid leaks and rework.

Hi. Would you recommend replacing the galvanized pipe for PVC?
Hello! I would recommend replacing old galvanized 2” pipes of PVC. Specially if your galvanized pipe starts to corrode. But, for the straw pipes in deep wells, i have not seen anyone used a 1” PVC as replacement for their 1” galvanized pipes. I was told by a professional that a PVC when used as straw pipe to attach ejectors are prone to breakages.
We are looking for the leathers to replace on jet, where can we find them? This video is a great help to us.
Where in the world are you? You can find new leathers at most hardware retailers or just ask a plumber
You can buy them online if it isn't available in your local hardware shops. Order a pair of spare leather caps too for future use.
I do not understand why no homedepot, lowes or local hardware stores in my area carry anything for well pump setups that are vertical shaft period.

Bc these have been replaced by new 4-6" deep well pulling more water. I still got this packer well set up. Having issues, preasure switch wont tuen off... i think i need to pull and do what he did here...@@tracybrown1579

Sir, pasensya na hindi ako familiar sa term na plumper. Ang use lang ng foot valve ay para ma-retain lang ang tubig sa straw pipe kapag nag-stop sa pag-andar ang water pump motor, at somehow masuportahan ang mga leather cup. Tumitikom kasi ang leather cup kapag walang pressure buildup sa tubo na 2", dahilan para bumalik ang tubig papunta sa ilalim ng deep well.

Sir ano ba ang problem gould pump deep weel 2hp.with ejector nayupi ang press.tank nag vaccume sya nag prime ako napupuno nman disc.only 2 kg.kht. adjust diapram ayaw tumaas at nawawala suction

Will Scene , kapag binomba mo manually yung straw na nakabaon ay bubuga dapat yan kahit wala lid o takip yung 2” na nakabaon. Minsan nakatikom ang leather cup kaya ayaw umakyat ang tubig. Ilan ba ang baon na 2”? Gaano kahaba ang straw na 1”?

Hindi sagad yan sir. 6 na 20ft 2” yan yung straw na nakakabit sa foot valve ay 2 x 20ft lang. Hindi available ang strainer (screen) kaya hindi na kami nakapaglagay.
Sir ilang months po tinatagal ng leather cap
Since installing this, ok pa naman po hanggang ngayon mahigit 1 year na po ito. Yun isa naman po namin deep well ay hanggang around 3-4 months lang ang itinagal ng replacement leather cap. May pagkakataon naman po na 1-2 months lang palit na agad kami dahil parang nabulok na po yung leather cup reason para mag leak.

sir pag maglagay ba ng injector sa 2" na tubo.. sagad ba ang injector sa last na tubo o sa taas kunti ng last tubo lang xa.. salamat..
Itong ginawa namin, sagad sya sa end ng 2 straw na tubo (20’ bawat isang straw). Meron rin gumagawa na sa pagitan lang ng 15’ to 20’ deep nilalagay ang injector (in other words sa gitna ng 2 straw nila inilalagay yung injector)

Dito po sa ginawa namin ay sa pinaka dulo namin inilagay ang injector. Pero meron rin po gumagawa na nasa 15-25 feet lang ang injector.

Nakuha ko lang yang habit na yan na paglalagay ng maraming teflon tape, sa mga nakita ko na gumagawa ng poso sa amin dati. The idea ay ang mura naman ng teflon kaya wag tipirin para tulong na rin para maiwasan ang pag leak. Hindi ko masabi kung ano ang tamang kapal o dami ng teflon na dapat ilagay, just enough para sumikip ang thread.

Ano problema pag ayaw humigop ng pump?need pa lagyan ng tubig ung pump pra mkahigop. Ng una ok nmn ng inikot ung pwesto ng pump doon na ngkaproblema

Sir, amateur lang po ako. First time ko po gawin yan na maglagay o magpalit ng leather cup. Lagi kasi kami nasisiraan ng leather cup at dahil lagi ko naman nakikita ang ginagawa ng plumber, kaya sinubukan ko naman na ako na lang ang mag-repair. Ok naman ang repair at nakatipid ng malaki sa labor.

@@deanandrianlegaspi6185 ang common size sa Pinas ay katulad ng nasa video 1” ang butas ng leather cap at yung pinaka diameter ng leather cap sa video ay sakto para sa 2” pipe. Meron din mas malaking size na leather cap not sure if 3” or 4”.
