Honestly, people are disappointed that he didnt get to die. But this was never a story about death. It was a story about him searching for a reason to live, which he did. He has friends now, something he didn't have for ages. Heck, you can call them a family and it wouldn't be wrong.
Yeah that's great and all, till you realize now yes gonna keep living, and eventually they'll get old and die, and he's back where he started unable to die with potentially no one as powerful as them to even get him close to this point again

Lily was the most annoying character im this show
At the end when he felt he was ready for death he actually finds what he needed this entire time. A true reason to live and people he truly wishes to help and be with. Life truly is unpredictable.
He was the hero who save the humanity from the Demon Lord, then he is treated as monster by humans just because "he's too strong". The King even tried to hunt him down and killed him simply because he's afraid the hero will become evil and take over the world.
It's sometime cool to see the plot when human are the true enemies while the so called demonkin that is supposed to kill because they are evil are more kinder than those human
To be fair he was close to destroying world so that he can save it idk when he start doing that but he is too strong.

Can't say I agree. Humans being all evil is an ridiculous plot. Realistically there are too many good humans for that to be ever be an acceptable story. That's why demons are usually the ones to take the role of "always chaotic evil", because they are mythical creatures described as being creatures of pure evil. Trying the same thing with humans instead just won't work.
You are wrong, “treated like a monster” is just his own plot device or excuse to his eventual descent to a villain that orchestrate real made up calamities just keep his purpose as a hero. Spoiler alert, later in the series, we will find out that humans still loves and worship him as a hero despite him publicly known that he defected to the demon lord.

she definitely isnt a dere of any kind. she isnt infatuated with leo by any means. but even if she was, it wouldnt be a kuudere. tsundere at best, but even thats stretching it. because she admitted that her initial hatred for him was simply because of who he was (being the person to stop her plans) but still wished no ill will on him because she completely understood why he was doing what he was from his perspective (being the hero and defending the land from supposed invaders) cuz ya know, thats his duty.

Water spirit call undine. It also the. S tory becomes more like how a former hero rebuilt tge demon world. B/c Echidna made him responsible in revitalizing the demon world

I literally adored this anime so much, it was just so enjoyable I literally cried the last 3 episodes the whole time 😭
i really liked them showing him slowly going insane over the hundreds of years and then realizing he is in fact becoming the villain and coming up with a plan to stop himself. i would have been happy with echidna honouring his wish and taking the stone, finally granting him rest, but i'm also happy he now has someone to live for

If a second season ever comes out, the other anti-demon weapons he almost created could be a good enemy (assuming any of them survived)
I think in one of the flashbacks, we saw him destroying the chambers and facilities he himself made to create these clones before they are complete. So probably no.

People always do things that they aren't "meant" to. Chili peppers are spicy as a defense mechanism. Humans somehow take culinary pleasure from that stuff. "Natural laws" are not legislations, but rather generalizations based on observations.
Yeah, people fear death for a good reason. Simply, noone knows what comes after, so they don't want to take that chance. After all, what if there truly is nothing after death and your mind is simply... erased?
But being truly immortal likely wouldn't be much better. Sure, the first couple hundred years would be fun. You could probably tolerate thousands if you have a strong mind and there is still something for you to do. But nothing can last forever. And what will you do once everything disappears? Once society crumbles, humans die out, then all other animals, plants, then the last speck of life and eventually the earth itself and you're just left floating around in space? The lack of air and low temperature causing immesurable pain, and nothing around to distact you? You're just a mind surrounded by complete nothingness, at this point barely, if at all, capable of remembering how it used to be to feel something, anything other than pain, hunger and thirst...

A lot of people seem to surprisingly dislike the ending. I get that it could be seen an predictable but personally I quite like it. Dude is inspired to live on even when he feels like he has to die... that's really hopeful and I believe it's a good message (which is something most good stories have). Who the hell would want despair to win? I love it when Hope wins. It always makes me feel just a little bit better about this crappy world.
There was hope, he had faith that Echidna would be able to pursue the peace between humans and demons. This guy has lived for over 3000 years, all the people he had known are either dead or they cast him away. All he wanted was a place where he didn’t have to fight anymore, and with his passing and the philosopher’s stone, that would be doable. But nah, we must milk you MC. Get yo ass back up!
On the flip side, the relationship he has with the beast girl is awesome. 🎉

@@syntraxmellow266 its because they didnt wanna be as graphic. if they truly wanted to represent the manga, leo would be missing the entire right side of his torso. he survived because hes immortal. even in this scene we see that when facing otherwise fatal damage, the only way to actually kill him would be to remove the philosophers stone (his core) before it enacts auto regeneracy.
