I too had one as a spotty teenager back in 72. A group of folk were sitting outside school on their suzuki mavericks, gaucho's and honcho's, so thought i would race past them on my bantam cub, to let them hear a proper bikes sound. Chopped down a gear or 2, and opened her up, and immediately over revved her, throwing a valve, so ended up with locked rear wheel and sliding to stop beside them, much to their amusement.
Kept that valve for a few years, was a lovely cork screw shape, as a reminder not to over rev motors.

Born Same year as myself !!! I wonder if it has the original front wheel, as it is the 3rd one I have seen lately that looks as though the rim is undersized to the front mudguard ???

I trust you have fitted new sprockets to go with the new chain or else the new chain will be eaten alive in no time.
