Thank you for your honest review!! I had only heard of people that said it really was great for them and its good to hear the flip side of the coin as well. I am now 36 weeks pregnant and I have been debating a lot on consuming my placenta, but it seems most medics are seriously advising against it and I was starting to not know what to think. But now I think I'll just do as you did. Let the pills be made and really observe my symptoms and my baby's when I use them and continue or discontinue accordingly

I feel that eating your own placenta puts all the good hormones back into your body. There are so many benefits. I also would suggest that women should clean and flush our livers before carrying a child, because your liver regulates your hormones and gets rid of excess hormones In the body.

I read that the placenta can inhibit milk production by taking in progesterone . I would like to try it due to many positive experiences read but now I am wary! It seems your experience wasn’t great either . Maybe we aren’t meant to take it . Monkeys don’t eat their placenta and they are the closest mammal to us

Your body reacts to ingesting your placenta in a completely different way from it staying behind in your uterus. Typically moms who choose to encapsulate and ingest their placenta have increased supply of milk, not inhibition!

That is simply not true. I am a RN with over 2 decades of experience with hospital and homebirth. I am also a lactation consultant. I have seen many mommas milk supply drop after taking placental supplements. Although some mothers may experience benefits, there is not enough evidence to confirm that this is not simply a placebo effect and anecdotal. Although I believe women should do whatever they feel is best for themselves, I cannot recommend consuming their placenta because there’s not enough science to support it and if anything, the science we do have does not show any benefit. placentarisks.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Health-Implications-to-Consider-with-Placenta-for-Consumption-Researched.pdf

I'm 6 weeks away from having my 4th child and im going to attempt a natural birth and was wondering about if I should or shouldn't eat the placenta and after seeing that I can put it in a convenient pill form I definitely want to at least try it, so do I just inform the hospital in birthing plan that I want the placenta stored for me to take home or do I bring like my own lil cooler for transport like im just wondering how i go about making sure I get to take it home and keep it fresh between the time of delivery and when I do get home? ( usually about 24-48 hrs in hospital where I'm located)

I recommend finding a trusted placenta specialist in your area to help you manage this! They usually take care of all of that for you, including preparation!
