Another location you ought to go is Bukit Tunku. You will find a lot of well-designed homes with a lovely view of the city of KL that are bordered by wooden areas.
This really reminds me when I was little back in the 70s, my elder brother and sister used to bring us all for a drive to do house-spotting like this. Pleasant memories. Thank you Andrew. And your commentaries are fun to listen to as well.
Hi, Taylor. 1:13 Looks like a rainbow Eucalyptus to me, so-called because as the bark peels, it exposes multiple colors underneath. They're native to the Philippines and Papua New Guinea, so someone transplanted them to Malaysia. If you want a nice scent in your apartment, gather up some of the fallen leaves and then dry and crush them. It's a spicy aroma. I recognize this tree because I worked at a place in California where someone had planted them. They shed branches, leaves, and bark like crazy. The tree is harvested for timber in the Philippines.
Nice video, Taylor. I agree that a clean, modern grey and white design is ideal. It would be great to see a condo version of this video. Maybe take us on a condo tour around the KLCC park area?
Very nice place Mr Taylor I stayed in Malaysian 3 years during my masters degree 2015 to 2018 and I went to Penang 2011 in my honeymoon than I visited Penang 2018 unfortunately the hill of Penang was closed at that time for dovlpment When I come for my PHD I will vist you

There are many places like Damansara, e.g. Country Heights Kajang and Country Heights Damansara. However unlike Damansara it is guarded and not open to the public. The concept is you buy the land and build your dream home. Our ex-prime minister, Tun Mahathir lives in Country Heights Kajang. So expats who wish to customize the house design, this is the one.
Hi Taylor - that tree is a rainbow eucalyptus and you can find them in Hawai'i and other tropical places. Really enjoy your videos! Left Malaysia to live in US as a kid. You are re-introducing Malaysia back to me. Thank you.
I enjoyed that tour. Informative too. I like where you’re going with your channel and am looking forward to more of these architectural excursions. Doubtless, one of the owners will invite you in for a tour sometime. I can see it coming. Thanks Taylor!
Andrew, I dont believe this but you actually showed my former neighbour's house opposite my own. You were literally 5m from where I used to stay before I moved out. Its a great neighbourhood to stay in.
Thank you very much for your interesting video for your infomation that is Called Damansara Height, yes is housing area some expat live here it is well organised housing area full of accomodation but it very famous. And well known.
Hi there, Damansara use to be plantation many years before Independent 1957. By the way, the name Damansara drive from Indian words: In Hindustani, “Daman” means “foothills” while “Sara” may mean either “a mansion of wealth”, or “water” in Sanskrit. The area use to be expat-living due to big corp companies located there such as SHELL, ESSO, UN and among others.

Ahh, Bukit Damansara. Everyone who lives there comes from old money... A lot of ministers too. Our 9th Prime Minister lived there and you would often see journalists camping near his home during his time.
I do very much enjoy looking at huge expensive homes admiring the architecture and wondering what it's like to live in one of them but I would be just as happy in a nice apartment in the city - especially if it has a skyline view.
Why not start a real estate vlog of all manner of Malaysian real estate with price tags and maybe internal views just like in House Hunters International!

Do you do your own editing/jump cuts? If so, what software do you use? If not, who does it for you? I’m looking for someone do do mine for me. I just don’t have time. Like that transition at the very beginning about it being way at the other end of KL from where you live. That was smooth.
It's fun to look and dream about living in a big fancy house but really it just ends up being more to clean. And Earl Grey might get lost in such a big space...better to have a cozy home to be together.
@Andrew Taylor I really appreciate you for creating these contents. I was following this channel before I moved here and now to find nice places to go while I am here. 🙏
It is probably a eucalyptus plant because it has red and green markings. You mentioned previously about broken up roti and wondering why and is it freshly made. Well, Muslims often only eat with one hand. The cook makes the roti then upon finishing breaks it into small pieces suitable for individuals using only their right hand. I have found good roti in smaller establishments and I look for a grilltop and the cook to be working on the fresh dough. I stay away if it is in a kitchen or the roti is stacked. Have a good one.
Well i live in Sabah and my dad is building a new house on a 17 thousand square feet plot with a 13 thousand square feet home and the cost is almost 10 million too so kl isn’t too expensive
@@EvolvedBonobo Thanks David! Yes, lovely convenient area. I def like the Tanjung Bungah area but part of me wants Batu Ferringhi. A little bit of distance away is not a bad thing...
Taylor, I’m not sure you could live in the 6 bed 7 bath one. While you’d have 1 bathroom for each day, you’d have to find another place to stay 1 day a week. I mean really. . . How could somewhere expect you to spend a second night a week in the same bedroom???
Well, I wouldn’t call it forced but it was available to everyone, foreigners included, for free. We had an app that you had to use wherever you went anywhere and if you were not vaccinated it severely restricted where you could go. They had very strict lockdowns and no interstate travel for quite a while. It was challenging but I think Malaysia handled it quite well. I’m still wearing my mask in crowded places and because of that I have not had a cold in over three years! A record for me.
I feel high class watching this video
