- GoodYear COMFORTDRIVE Tires First Week Review
Kia Sorento #kia #sorento #kiasorento #diy #goodyeartires #comfortdrive #tires
The Goodyear Comfortdrive tires are the updates to the just discontinued Comforttred tires that are now on sale (March 2020) and mostly out of stock.
These were ordered after much research on the best tires to soften up a rough ride. This Sorento was always really bad on any bumps on the road with the stock Kumho Solus tires.
The new tires have changed the cars drive completely, even more than having broken front shocks fixed.
Highly recommend so far after a week of driving.
3/2022 Update: 8000 miles driven
Wish we got these sooner on the car. From long rides to short rides the bumps and road noise were dampened significantly. There wasn’t a major noticeable hit to mpg and the handling didn’t change much.
4/2022 Traded in the suv with these tires. I am not able to give a long term review.
New tires are ALWAYS worse on fuel mileage than the worn previous tires any car would have prior to installing new tires. The extra tread thickness naturally creates increased drag and the drag decreases with wear.
Thanks for the info!
I luv these tires. 10000 miles on them. Confidence in the curves. Luxury car ride. Performance is there. Let them break in always. Slow down in the rain.
*speed up in the rain
how is its winter capability
Just got these mounted and haven't even driven 20 miles yet but they feel like my Vredestein Wintrac Pro winter tires do. Nice soft ride, absorbs a lot of stuff.
I am looking at these for my CRV when the time comes. My previous CRV had the Comfortred and were the best tires I have ever had.
Hopefully these will be just as good.
These are like the Dr Scholls shoe gel pads for the road
Now Your Jellin 😊
Thank for the review I am looking forward for buying these, your video put my mind at ease 👍
Just put them on my 19 Gmc Canyon hoping for better ride. 255/55/20....Truck came with Michelins and I just traveled from Goodyear store home about 10 miles so not ready to give them a rating yet. Thanks for update to original video
So whats your opinion
Love Goodyears...Thanks for your great real review
I may get these again after my OEM Alenzas wear out.
Just took off my snow tires and needed new al season tires so I got these from my local Sam's club the guy could not tell me anything about them they just got them in we talked a bit about tires so I got them on my gut feeling they took 6 days to get delivered just got these last week for my 2016 Acura TLX-SH AWD and man these are like day and night compared to my old all season tires that came with the car feels like I am riding on air I feel nothing as I am driving around town can't wait to see how they feel when I get on a highway and and put it in Sport + mode on my car
Thanks for the review.
have you tested them in the snow? i’m thinking of pulling the trigger on these but I live in PA and we get harsh winters sometimes
update: I got the cross climate 2s and it’s amazing, however it’s definitely hurt my range by about 20%z
You still buy these tires regularly? If so how is it on sport plus
Hi, I was hoping that you mentioned, where the tires were manufactured. I realize that Good Year, is an American company. In todays world, tires are made in other countries. When I bought my first Camaro, back in 1975, the tires were made here in the Good Old USA. They were good tires, I had them in Germany, when I was serving in "Uncle Sam's U.S. Army" Three years later, when I came back to the "World" I was ready for new tires, and I bought B.F Goodrich, they were good tires, like the originals, that came on the Camaro. Going forward to 2023, I found out that B.F Goodrich belongs to Michelin and the tires are made in Singapore. The Good Year that you bought for your vehicle, are they USA made or are they Canadians? Either one are acceptable. Thank so much in advance, when you send your reply.
They are made in Chile
Sorry I don’t have them anymore but they may be from chile.
Freeze the frame at 2:07...they're made in Chile. But that doesn't automatically mean they aren't any good.
I have my Cadillac 2017 CTS. I wanted Michelin’s but the guy recommended from computer reviews from all over these instead of the all season. I guess they’re more comfort. On a luxury vehicle instead of Sparty, I guess. 🤷♂️ They’ll be coming in two weeks. Los Angeles Ca where I’m at
Let us know what you think once you have some miles on them.
Whats your thoughts on them since then till now ?
I agree with your assessment. These are really great tires. I put them on a 2013 Prius V. Much, much quieter ride and excellent wet traction and handling. Only trade off was less MPG, but it’s definitely worth it.
bcoz of this comment just bought this today online for my 2013 Prius V. will install after 2 days @ Mavic discount tire. we'll see what happen. ;-/
@@GLAMOUREBOY Glad to hear! Let me know what you think. I love mine!!
How much mpg loss?
Maybe 2-3 mpg loss. Worth it.
Thanks for the video and update. Looking to get tires for a 2005 Monte Carlo. It has old Tiger Paws dated 2015. It's just a base model and looking for something with a smooth, soft, and quiet ride.
Ordered 2x Comfort Assurance tires from Sam's. Going on a 2012 Kia Soul, notorious for Spartan suspension, rolling on R16 rims. I already installed new front struts but ride still is rough on small potholes.
Let me know if it feels like a different car
Put these Goodyear Assurance Comfort Drive on my Honda Accord 2.0T touring model.
How are they holding up? I want to try because it's super annoying having a shaking car over road imperfections, but I don't want to sacrifice acceleration. You did mention getting worse MPG.
I don’t have them anymore but I would get them again.
Hey Danny
Any update after prolonged use? Are they quiet and do they still absorp bumps and road imperfections?
Do you still think they are the best choice to fix harsh rides?
Actually, traded in the Sorento shortly after the 2022 update. Will definitely consider getting them on my new traverse when it needs tires.
Hey, did these tires have to (break in) I just got them on my Highlander. They do seem soft and comfy like they have to potential to absorb road imperfections, but they seem like maybe out of round. I heard some people say to give them a couple of hundred miles to soften up and get smooth. I do notice a little more noise then the own, but those tires were much harder rubber. These are definitely a soft rubber.
2016 avalon limited is far bumpier than my old 2010 avalon limited i traded it for. sheesh. company ive never heard of. ironman?
im gonna try these tires. my 2010 avalon had the assurance (i think)
thank you for posting, follow up video ? I was going to change the shock absorbers too, hopefully I can save a few by trying the tires first.
I would defiantly try the tires first, I have some vids on the shocks but it didn’t help as much as I though it would.
@@dannyjackhammersmy Ford Fiesta has 195/50/R16 on it. Can feel every bump even with new struts and shocks. Are your tires 195/50/16? Looking for a softer ride.
Do you find that it makes a big enough difference in the ride?
Compared to the OEM, complete difference.
I can combine deals to do 3 tire get 1 free & $150 back with good year credit card. May have to settle for $75 off but is it worth to get a good year credit card and remember pay it off and never use it again? It's for Tesla Model 3 hopefully it can give quiet ride.
I wouldn’t get a new card just for one purchase but that’s just me. I took the $75 off.
My Honda Accord 2.0T touring model sits up better and excellent grip. Absorbs the bumps.
Getting these installed on our Accord 2.0T touring tomorrow. How are you liking the tires so far?
@@donaldchristie3534 how did you feel about them? Are they quiet and do they absorb the bumps and road imperfections?
How do they compare to previous tyres you tried?
@@dominozonda Only put around 3K miles on them, but they are just as quiet as the Michelins that came on the car. As for bumps, maybe a slight improvement, but they will cost you a couple of MPGs. I did the math on these vs Michelin and with the loss of gas mileage, over a 50K mile lifespan of tire, these will cost more in the long run. What you save in $$ will be lost in more fuel consumption.
@@donaldchristie3534 thanks for the tip man, I never would have thought that the fuel consumption would be that different between these and the Michelins, and I actually thought these would be more comfortable as that is specifically what they designed them for!
Yes definitely a hit in MPG over OEM which were LRR tires. But may save on other early repairs like having shocks and coils all prematurely fail from taking hard bumps.
It's 2 years later. How's tires now!!!! It's time for new reviews
Sorry traded in the suv with these tires on it. Can’t do an update :(
@dannyjackhammers did you down size to a 4 cylinder instead.
Cold weather does the pressure goes down
Always. The ideal gas law. PV=nRT
Yes, the cold weather will compress the air and lower the air pressure inside the tire.
Sorry old video.
My family owns 2 mazda3 a 2012 and 2014.
I believe the oem tires for both are Bridgestone Ecopia Ep422 plus. Set of 4 would be like $129 x 4 or about $510.
Ride is very stiff in both and road noise is bad even on smooth roads.
I just came across these tires. Are they quiet? Luxury tires have polyurethane molded seals inside them but I don't think this one has.
Uh a set of 4 would cost almost $850... I want a creamy smooth rude that's quiet 😖
Look forward to your review.... our 2016 Mazda CX-5 has a rough ride as well. :/
Just took a 2 hr round trip drive. World of difference. So far highly recommend.
Wow, weird, I just ordered these for my 2018 CX5. Mostly for the noise as the ones it comes with aren't terrible, but they aren't silent either. Plus I actually started to slip a little in the snow last month(s). So its time. 1012.80$ with the 60$ off install sale, in Wisconsin. Later will get a 175$ card in the mail. Or its half that rebate if you don't use their card. But the cash back rebate card is better than any points and worth the hassle - just pay it off right away, otherwise they screw you... like all credit.
I just bought these and my 2011 Chrysler 200 feels like a different car. Loving these tires so far.
Got my rebate back, took about 2 weeks.
Now new tires always use a little more…give it a few thousand miles….
If you have an update on your mpg’s…let us know.
Also, I’m having these installed next week, switching from out of round Pirelli tires on a Jetta, I’m excited and curious how they will do on my car.
I got them with the Memorial Day sale
Blessing!
It still took a slight hit compared to the stock LRR tires but was well worth the trade off for the ride comfort.
Whats wrong with pirelli tires? Why switch from them to goodyear
@@mikexcanxjerk because the pirelli go out of round, 3 different sets on two different cars and all of them went out of round. never had this with any brand. So for me, never again. The goodyear comfortdrive are on my car now for 1 whole month, so far excellent. also the latest pirelli calendar was pretty dark, as in occult, as in very creepy, i think vigilant citizen has a whole article on it. Other than the issues I encountered quality wise, I would also no longer buy them for that reason. Normally I like Michelin best, but the choice were not there, crossclimate 2 is noisy and takes mpg away, defender 2 reviews (tirerack video) is pretty mediocre.
I took my chance with these goodyear tires, so far I'm quite happy.
@@APPLEtv4VIERACAST also does it really drive like your on clouds? Hows the performance when driving aggressively and such?
@@mikexcanxjerk No, not the tire for aggressive driving, the absolute one and best is the Pilot sport all season four from Michelin which I have on my sporty car, but four a soft touring drive like on a Jetta TDI they are perfect, the comfort drive is not a sport title.
Lol can i get new update ? So how is it so far till now ?
Sold the card after about 8,000 miles on them right after my update in the description. Have Bridgestone alenzas but may get these again when it’s time to replace the stock OEM.
dude.. the tires are TOO big, they shouldnt be rubbing the front of your wheel well lol.
Those are the stock tire specs. It may just be the camera angle lol.
Update?
Quick update in the description!
TBH. These are made in Chile. Be CAREFUL
