What Doepfer module tutorial next? (see description for list)
11:51 gives some Carl Stalling vibes
I cant wait to pair this with my system
Great Overview as always
Thank You Fred
Doepfer utility are really great
thanks 🙏 they certainly are👍
Never really knew how to use it until now. Thanx mate 🙂
You're welcome🙂 I think it's a must have especially at that price.
I love my adder. I already know well how to use it, but hope this video helps people understand a bit more. It's one of my top utilities, easily. You can patch in four different CV's and then switch between them, or combine them. I like to leave one input open so I can use that switch just for octave +/- switching. I bought a second one once to use for gates, but it doesn't really do that job very well from what I remember.
thanks 😊
Thank you for all these super informative videos, homie! You mentioned what other modules we'd like top learn more about and I have a request. I'd like to know more about the few modules that send and receive Gate and CV via the Doepfer case bus. That is really nice to not always need to patch every last jack.
Thanks 🙏
Any modules in particular? I already did videos on the oscillators 110-1, 110-4 and 110-6, precision adder and the bus access.
Excellent video, when you change the jumper to send cv to the bus does that automatically affect pitch CV for any oscillators that are connected to the same bus board or is there some other connection you have to make? Thanks for making this video!
Thanks @vacantimaginarium683 , you only need to put the jumper in the correct position and the oscillators must accept cv over bus of course. An indication could be that modules with those connectors with wide ribbon cables probably receive or send cv (check manual to be sure). Those ribbon cables that are about half the width of the connector will not pass cv because it's send over the wires that are missing in these narrow ribbon cables if that makes sense.
Thanks for your explanations!
my pleasure 🙂
Thank You for video.
One link point is missing for me, do i have connect oscillators, A-185-1 and A-185-2 on same power bus?
Even more, i have all oscilators, vca and filters in one case, and control voltages modules in another case, so think it will not work properly because of different source of power.
Yes you need to connect the A-185-1 or A-185-2 and Oscillators or ADSRs to the same bus board!
What is possible though is for instance connecting multiple rows to the same bus board if the cables a long enough. Just having an Precision Adder next to a few oscs is in my opinion invaluable.
Do you have a link to your system? I could have a look and do a suggestion.
Are you saying that the ocsillators of the Matriarch and/or Mother-32 may be modulated by the bus board CV? If I have not totally misunderstood: How? I am really looking forward to your bus board CV tutorial.
In the video the cv is going over the bus to the tiptop vco’s, it is obvious the matriarch vco’s have no connection to the same busboard as the Precision Adder or Bus access module.
If the mother 32 can receive cv over the busboard it would be possible if it is connected to the same busboard. Best check the manual to see if it is capable.
You can find the bus access video on my channel it’s the A-185-1
how did you use the module without patching any cables? did I miss something
It sends cv over the bus board if you configure the jumper on the back of the module.
The oscillators are receiving cv from both bus board and their cv in.
Also it generates one volt per switch if you have nothing plugged in.
do you have a guide for installing and connected the behind the case bus connectors? i have a large doepfer system and would love to utilize less cables
I don’t have a tutorial but I can make one, it’s very module dependent only a select range of modules accept cv and gate over bus
@@Detroit-Berlin ok thank you, i sub to the channel, i hope to learn more about it
Nothing patched ? Whould be more understable , anyway Nice video mate and thanks for your time
thanks 🙏
past 10:00 I have a cable patched, the big advantage of this module is that it sends the output over bus cv and when nothing is patched to the inputs it generates 1volt per input.
Im confused.. there is nothing patched into that module affecting that synth
The oscillators get cv via the cv bus and the Precision adder affects the oscillators also via the cv bus
@@Detroit-Berlin thanks for the reply
@@jaaz7835 no problem, I might do a video on cv bus someday 👍
@@Detroit-Berlin that'd be something I'm interested in seen.
@@jaaz7835 I’ll incorporate it when doing the bus access module
