- Cutting drywall around stairs is not the funnest diy drywall install that you can do but it makes the stairs look good once you take the time and do it, drywall installation is a great diy job that any homeowner can accomplish with a little due Diligence. How did you finish the stairs because my stairs I have to put drywall around like you did but the staurs don't look like they are finished to me. Any suggestions?

Measure you rise and your run for each step, the. Transfer those measurements to the drywall, you will have to adjust when installing
