I went full bagger last week! I traded in my street bob for a new 2022 Electra Glide standard. I absolutely love the bat wing fairing and it was at a price I could afford. I was approved for the Electra Glide or Road king standard from my bank. My father road Electra Glides for years and I'm so proud to have my own now. He has been battling health issues the last 5 years including currently battling stage 2 prostate cancer. I rode the Electra Glide to his house the day after I bought it and to see the smile on his face was priceless. Great video snipes! Personally I would choose the street glide if my pockets were deep enough. Can't go wrong with the road glide either tho.

I like both paint jobs a whole lot. I too am a low key guy most of the time. That said, if I was going to pay this much for a bike, I would want the pop of the wicked orange paint scheme. I do like the wheels on the RG.

  • @Big2Wheeler
    @Big2Wheeler Před 2 lety +2

I've been on Batwings for almost 20 years but those RG's grow on me more every year. CVO's are cool but I've always thought they we're a little too much. I'm glad I bought my custom color Ultra Limited new in 2017 and did the stage 1 and all the creature comforts before the world economy was set on it's head. I've got right at $35k into it with all the upgrades which is almost what they're asking for the Standard RG in Reef Blue this year. I refuse to pay the $5-6k stealer markup on anything, and take a double wammy on my trade to boot. That's just plain insulting. Keep up the great no-nonsense reviews.

  • @bilweiser

Use to get a new Harley every couple years. Joke was when the bike needed new tires id go to the dealer. While I was waiting I might have ended up with a new bike. That's when they listed at 20k plus for a CVO. Still making good money but they priced me out of the market for new at 50k. Yea that's the out the door price. Guess ill be keeping the 17 King for a while. Def like the Road Glide Paint by the way painted at Gunslingers in Golden Colorado. Took a Road Glide for a test ride couple years back and almost fell asleep driving it on the highway ran so smooth.

I bought the 2022 FLHXSE Steel Blue. A couple of comments with the compare. The Road Glide has extended bags(which I like). I dont know why Harley did this but maybe not the best option. space is a premium for me. The Road Glide paint is $3000 more. I believe your comment said they were the same price. Thats the base price amd changes with the paint option. A great option both of these bikes have is back light controls. That is huge whwn riding at night. No more fumbling around for the bright or horn. An the gas cap and fill is soooo much better than the street/road glide specials. gettr done!!

I traded 3 of my Harley’s for one of the 2022 CVO Road Gildes in Envious Green Fade this past October. I honestly didn’t think it would happen due all the issues with the pandemic and everything. Originally the wanted me to trade my 2018 street glide special and my 2006 Softail Deluxe for a 2022 Street Gide. Nice bike but not enough wow factor for me. They found one of the Envious Green Fade CVO’s at the motor company but as I mentioned there was no guarantee that it would be shipped. 2 weeks later they called me on a Saturday morning when I was on a ride to say that the bike was shipping and should arrive that coming week. Tuesday morning they messaged me to say happy Tuesday and by the time I read that a picture appeared of the bike that had just been unloaded. I traded my ‘18 Street Glide Special, the 2010 Road King Classic and the ‘06 Softail Deluxe for the CVO. THe bike came in at 47K. I pay less for the CVO than I did for the 3 bikes that I traded which was another reason I choose to do it. I’ve always ridden Street Glides and figured if I was going to make the change to a Road Glide than it would be with this bike. Also the Envious Green Fade paint scheme looked to me better on the Road Glide as there is more real estate on it than the Street Glide. I was able to put 802 miles on it before the season ended here in Vermont. I bought the bike like my others because I ride a lot. The Street Glide I traded had 42K on it and I bought it brand new in May of 2018. Overall it’s a nice bike as as I mentioned I bought it to ride not to look at plus my Street Glide Special came all blacked out and I liked the darker colors and fade of the Envious Green. I’m looking forward to this spring and spending a lot of time on it and enjoying riding as that’s what it’s all about.

Lighter weight helps handling, braking and acceleration. One of my bikes has electronic suspension. On a $40,000 bike how about electronic suspension. Really helps with passengers. Paint?-Blue Steel all the way .... saw a CVO RG with it at my local dealer a while back and it stopped me dead in my tracks. Combined with the blackened chrome it's understated in a really good way and not in your face like the flames/colors of the other paint choices. Nothing wrong with orange/ black.... if it's on a XR 750. You've said before nobody does paint better than H-D and Blue Steel is the proof as are the billiard colors. It's harder to do the simpler things well and when you do, you don't need dime size metal flake and flames to call attention to it. That's just me- if you prefer something different, the Motor Company has you covered.
One question- the CVO Street Glide uses iirc a 19" front wheel, the CVO Road Glide a 21". How does that affect handling?

Im still betting it doesn't cost more than about 10k-15k (it could actually be less, everyone think dealers make 2 grand a bike or not much per bike, i never believed that. In order to make it in the retail world there is a % formula that is about the only way to make it in sales, that is 60 to 70% profit, u walk into a best buy, every single thing in there cost, at min, 2/3rds less than the price u see to make it, that is 100% true ask any person who runs the books in any retail setting, u cannot make it otherwise) in manufacturing, parts, everything excluding R&D and advertising (which is the biggest factor to cost in pretty much everything) to make this bike.
Although its about dbl of its non CVO model there is no way, in absolute hell, there is double the materials or cost or anything even remotely close to it costing that much.

The bikes do not look the same, the Blue steel Bikes both the SG CVO and the RG CVO do not have extended bags. This is specific to the color. You showed that in the video as you said they are exactly the same and clearly the bags are not the same which can mislead someone to think the SG does not have stretched bags, they do in the other two colors just as the stee blue road glide does not.

Yeah wayyy past my price point. But the Road Glide would be the one for me.

Question: Does the chin spoiler fairing on the road glide have a function? I love the look and plan to add one to mine, but was curious to know if it changes aerodynamics or anything

It doesn’t do much but look dope. I have the road glide cvo and all it does is not allow you to run mid frame deflectors. They are road glide with the standard crash bar only. I will say I expected them to be cheaply mounted, there did surprise me. Go get one.

I won’t buy anymore Harley Davidson bikes in protest until the corporation reels in their dealerships for trying to overcharge the customer.

The Street Glide all the way. For me, it has a more sleek look and I love the darker color. Never have been a fan of the Harley orange if you will. Not a fan of duel headlights on bikes either.

Ride the Road Glide down the highway and you’ll change your mind

The blue steel is a bland color for a CVO , the MOCO needs to bring back the lower fairings and speakers and yes it would require the previous engine guard

The dark blacked out bikes look good up close but the further distance you get, it turns into one black blob.
