i hope to finish this and making sorta like a semi animated pmv thing? this is an updated sketch of the first storyboard i did a while ago here : • bluestar- little pisto...
also a brief explanation for those who want it:
at the beginning bluestar is paying respects to mosskit and sees misty and stonefur, shes like 'ok im still ok with my decision'
then we flash forward to her trusting tigerclaw and him bein her deputy and being a ''''swell''' guy. fires like ya right i dont trust him longer than his whiskers
then tigerclaw attacks the camp and bluestar. fire comes to the rescue and the blood of the battle is like war paint i guess on her face
bluestar is blinded by his traitorness i guess. then we see him getting banished, bluestars distrust, the fullmoon thing is like her not picking a deputy at the right time, fire is sad that shes feelin dis way
then the forest fire in rising storm, everything is ashy and black and white, and firey. bluestar looses faith in starclan here.
theres a battle of sunningrocks next. bluestar gets cornered by misty and stone when fire reveals to them shes their mom to prevent them from killing her. they hate her bluestar crys
then flash forward to cloudtails warrior ceremony, swift and bright resolve to fight da dogs. bluestar sees bright and is like disgusted but acutally goes back 2 her den to cry cat tears
then she resolves to go to starclan and confront them about how she feels shes been treated. goosefeather in particular because of da prophecys
shes reminded of the water will destroy u, it transitions to after she saves fire. shes in the river. AT THE END, she like. looses her war paint returning to clarity. misty and stone save her and forgive her. then she cry. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

I wouldn't recommend doing that. As tempting as rewatching something you really enjoy over and over again can be, it's better to watch things like this every few weeks because otherwise your brain gets used to it and you basically stop enjoying it. Trust me, I've ruined some songs for myself by doing this, and it sucks so bad, so as a result I try to watch this only once every month (which may be overdoing it, but I'm not willing to take any risks)
I love the symbolism with blood on her face and eyes and how her rationality and "vision" were clouded!
This is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking warriors animations I have ever seen. The depth it goes into to explore Bluestar's inner fear and turmoil. The metaphor of the "war paint" and grayscale is simply phenomenal, and it really shows how she lost a part of herself when Tigerclaw turned on her. I absolutely loved Fireheart's presence throughout it. How he knew she was taking it, but through it all he stays loyal to her, even when she looses all loyalty to him and the clan. We see a different side of bluestar, one filled with pain and despair as she watched everything crumble around her. The incredible detail and symbolism can only be described as beautiful. I have watched this three times already, and cried every time. This is truly a work of art. Thank you, nifty.

She lost a part of herself? If you read Bluestar's Prophecy, you can see that Bluefur is really messed up. I think that she lost the rest of herself when Tigerclaw betrayed her. But, honestly, I agree with you.

Seeing the emotion on Bluestar's face when Tigerclaw attacked made me wonder what would've gone through her head if Fireheart failed to stop him.
Like, the commotion in the den would attract others and they'd still exile Tigerclaw, but I honestly wanna see an AU of Bluestar's thoughts and feelings if Fireheart died at the paws of Tigerclaw when he tried to protect her.
That's a really interesting AU idea, actually!

i have no words to describe what a masterpiece this is. you convey emotions so well, how fireheart is basically tumbling over himself as he's running to help bluestar, when he's running to help brightpaw, when bluestar is sliding across the ground as she rushes to the moonstone. god, i just imagine... for months, bluestar has these blood stains on her face because she's too depressed to groom herself, and you can distinctly see it blurred and erased in lines below her eyes from crying.
i also love how the shots become really detailed when there's a lot of emotion there, and how you can tell who all the cats are by how they're drawn. the ending made me actually cry so THANKS

I love the idea of how the blood stays over Bluestars eyes. Since that situation certainly blinded her from what was right until she died, which was when the blood washed off. She made many irrational choices after Tigerclaw tried attacking her and I think the blood over her eyes specifically was a wonderful way to portray the things she did and the choices she made. It acted as a sort of blindfold, she realized what she had done once it came off, she didnt realize what she was doing at the time because she was just so emotionally torn about someone so close to her trying to kill her. The blood of Tigerclaw stuck to her and effected her decisions greatly.

Day four. I've lost count of how many times I've watched this and how many drawers I've filled with drawings of Bluestar. I've spent nearly $652.45 on drawing paper and sketch books, $1,237.09 on art supplies. I haven't seen sunlight in three days. I've drank about 74 coffees and hot chocolates.

Well I’ll never get to feel this because I don’t have any siblings
I can imagine Bluestar running away from all her worries, trying to be a good leader. And all the while she has to deal with Oakheart's death and her kits being in a different Clan. Then Redtail dies, then Lionheart, and Tigerclaw betrays her and Fireheart takes place. She has to deal with Cinderpaw getting ran over, Spottedleaf dying, and dying herself!
And then Fireheart, her own warrior, turning into leader and everything happening to him. All the while Bluestar watches from StarClan, helpless to help.
And you know the problem with dealing depression (cat can have depression emotion alright) pressure and being fool to yourself in front of everyone (I mean by making yourself look like your a bad leader)
I was on the verge of tears for the whole thing and then Bluestar just gets WHIPPED UP by Stone and Misty at like 3:46 and i started laughing hysterically

Becca. B Kind of half spoiler alert? I guess if you haven't read the first arc.
So y'know Swiftpaw and Brightpaw are all like "heck no why does Cloudtail get to become an warrior just because he doesn't believe in StarClan?" So they both decide to prove themselves by trying to drive away the dogs that were found in the territory. Unfortunately for them, they get absolutely hammed and Swiftpaw dies while Brightpaw suffers a huge injury on one of her eyes are results her in becoming permanently scarred. Fireheart tells Bluestar about this and [cue scene] Cloudtail is all sad and stuff and Cinderpelt is treating Brightpaw and Bluestar is all "heck no your name is Lostface now gj." and leaves. and that's it.
I come back here every so often to rewatch this a couple dozen times. It's so beautiful.

Bad day, Bluestar?
Just finished rereading the first Warriors series and went back to watch this animatic to see how it compared to the books. Having the books’ details fresh in my mind amplified all the feelings in this animatic, and I’m astounded by how beautifully you convey Bluestar and her complicated personality and situation. This really is masterful storyboarding, pacing, and cinematography. You convey so much of bluestar’s story in just five minutes, which is phenomenal- even two hour long movies sometimes cannot achieve that level of storytelling. Brilliant job!! Watching this always gives me chills, especially the bursts of mini animation.
Bluestar definitely did not deserve to live the life she did. She sacrificed so much just for everything to fall apart. Her deputy betrays her, one of her apprentices has lost one of her eyes and she feels guilty, and then the fire scene, her weak Clan, her kits angry at her, and her anguish as she slowly loses her faith and sanity.
I can't imagine how mad she was that the prophecy turned out to destroy her life.
Poor girl.

I just want to point out, I absolutely love how you draw Tigerclaw in the beginning. He looks like the sweet big ol’ deputy bluestar pictured him as, she never expected him to try to kill her for power. And I love how you draw fireheart too, he was suspicious from what Ravenpaw told him about Tigerclaw, but Bluestar is totally blind to that. I really like that detail.
Also I’m just a sucker for when people draw Tigerclaw/star looking like a good dude.

Also this is like, pro animatic work. You realize Disney and Pixar don't even have animatics that look this nice, right?
Wow your art just jumped like crazy! Very nice work on the backgrounds, your anatomy has gotten so good! just a little feedback, I personally don't think you need that cut to black in the beginning when match cutting Bluestar from beside to river to being in the clan talking to Tigerstar. As well, I honestly really loved in the old storyboard how you had the screen turning in one direction when Bluestar was at the moonstone then turning a different direction when it changed to Starclan. It added a lot of dynamics and visual tension to the scene. But these are just personal preferences, I look forward to the finished product!

My favorite part animation-wise is at 2:11. The camera backs away from the cat running, making it seem like they're going nowhere, or chasing something they can't catch. Plus the music at that point is just so... AHHHH! It's so perfect. I love it

Honestly, BlueStars decent I to madness/distrust/loosing belief was actually heart breaking. She is such a good character and had such a hard life, loosing her sister, MossKit and then OakHeart. Along with other things in her past. I’m just glad Star-clan saw what was going on and still accepted her with open arms (legs).

Oh MY GOSH Honestly Nifty you've outdone yourself again! This is beautiful!! It really shows the sides of Bluestar that people overlook, and her method in her madness. The way you creatively use camera angles amazes me and the expressions on the characters are astounding! I loved the part when fireheart is standing in front of bluestar, facing Tigerclaw/star and it shows their shadows on the cliff side, I re-watched this several times to see everything because its all so deep! When fireheart tears Tigerclaw's ear and the blood covers bluestar's eyes, I really thought about that. It can be taken many ways, I saw it as bluestar "seeing red" and how she was against her own clanmates. all-in-all, this is how animatics should be and i love it good job man

So beautifully boarded and I love the technicality of it(for lack of a better word). I like animatics don't get me wrong but the movements and boarding always seem flat but this is amazing, the range of composition and stylistic detail along with the chosen scenes give this such a pleasing look and feel! Pulls it apart from other ones I've seen.
And the choice of scenes and how they were handle was nice new flavour for the fandom! I don't think I have seen many people focus on the points you did like the scene with Brightheart in the Med. Cat den and the scene with Bluestar at Moonstone.
There is a level of professionalism in this that is truly inspiring and I can't wait to see it finished! Amazing work Nifty!!

god i finally got to read bluestars story, cause this year is my first time ever getting to read warriors, and i came back to watch this because i just, jeez her story is so sad. This pmv captures it all so perfectly. im- cry a lot. it was so depressing reading how hard things had broken her spirit and how she could no longer trust in herself, her clan, or starclan itself. The way she was written and her slow deterioration was done so well both in the books and this pmv so ty for this :' )) i hate what became of her ugh its so just heartbreaking.

this is only an animatic and yet it's far and away one of the best warriors videos out there. perfectly represents bluestar's descent into madness, fear and regret and it's heartbreaking. the ending made me tear up

this is it, this is the animatic that's gonna make me sit down and reread warriors
Before this thought escapes me, I really like to think that the red war paint shown across Bluestar’s face ultimately represents her gradual descent. It represents the fear and pain she’s experiencing, as well as the slow deterioration of her sanity. I think the paint symbolizes her feelings of being trapped, all of the hurt she has experienced in her life bubbling over and erupting out of its cage. Once she falls into the water and reflects upon the life flashing before her eyes, she realizes that with her sacrifice, despite all of her suffering and all that she has done, she can finally be free and at peace.
Actually, I’m quite sure the paint symbolizes something much deeper than this, and I know I could explain my thought process much better than I am now. Maybe I’m just tired. But, like I said, I did just want to jot this down before I forgot about it. Perhaps my interpretation is similar to ya’ll’s?
Anyway, this was an amazing MAP. I know Bluestar gets a lot of hate, but she will always be golden in my heart. Thank you so much for this work of art, Nifty. It’s very moving when you fully understand Bluestar’s plight.

this is amazing. compared to the other bluestar pmvs and maps which are all dedicated to her youth and time as a warrior, ( moonflower's death, snowfur's death, thistleclaw's ambitions and her relations with oakheart), it's wonderful to see a video finally addressing her madness after tigerclaw betrays her. thank you.
