Golden Retrievers make wonderful pets, they are very beautiful and friendly not sure why people just abandon them. Well there is no good reasin why these dogs or any dogs are just thrown away like trash. Please care for your pets and don't throw them away they have feelings and don't understand why their master just leaves them. God bless and thank you

People will buy a dog thinking, "Oh, it will be great. All I have to do is give them food, water and shelter." They don't think about what if that animal becomes critically ill or injured. Even normal vet bills can be hundreds of dollars for things like vaccinations. When they find out how expensive it can be to have a pet and properly care for it, they abandon the animal and make it someone else's problem. It's sad. And then people get upset when they go into a shelter and the adoption process is lengthier and more difficult than just signing and paying the adoption fee. We want to weed out all the people who aren't dedicated to ensuring the health and wellbeing of their pet. If you can't afford the vet bills, then don't get a pet. If you can't dedicate yourself to their well-being, don't get a pet because they almost always end up abandoned or surrendered to a shelter.
