      @@bruteento255 you would have to go oversized pistons for them to work

    i just bought a used engine to take to the machine shop and then try to build a new motor for my srt4 and now i kinda think i might be in over my head lol

    Question when you take it to the machine shop what all do they do or you tell them? I’m going to be doing mine soon and I’m another 1st timer

    • @stagedracing8150
      @stagedracing8150  Před 5 měsíci

      I told them to
      1.hot tank the engine
      2. Check the bore and make sure they are in spec.
      3.hone the bores.
      4. I gave the then main and cap bearing to check the clearances.
      5. Magna flux the block.
      6. Resurface the head.
      7. do a valve job on the head.
      And that’s about it really.

    What gap did you run on the oil rings?

      @stagedracing8150  Před 5 měsíci

      I honestly don’t remember since it’s been awhile. On the first engine video I added the link to the FSM and i know I went in the middle of the tolerances.
