I don't know if series planned this, but I really think the way they acted it, we do see they did "love" one another. And Vis screwed up marrying her. As it got to weird even for them! (and this family that does incest lol..) I didn't headcannon this just for for new les ship in the media, I really felt this for some time! I LOVE THIS! The way you edited this just solidified it!
Otto had pushed Alicent on Viserys long before Aemma was dead. Aemma was always speculative of her. It wasn’t Alicents fault or really Viserys’ either. Viserys should have taken a dornish woman or Laena or literally anyone except a Hightower. Another Arryn perhaps. A Tully, a Tarly. Anyone. Otto pushed his daughter on Viserys 100% for Otto’s own gain. He didn’t care about either of them when he made that choice. And he made that choice when alicent was born.
