Yes!!!! Chennal Boy. I want to work 30-35 hours per week, in a job that has get up and move time (I don't mind hard physical labor), and also some brain or problem solving work to keep it interesting. I want more than 1 or 2 weeks off a year, I want health insurance, and decent pay. I have yet to find this job in America, there is this BS idea that I am lazy because I don't want to work 40 hours a week or more. I had a salaried job and I was abused at that, I never want to work salary again. I have also owned 2 businesses, but honestly, I hate working by myself and prefer a team of great people. I am 52 and would love to find a job I love until retirement, but I honestly think the job I want does not exist. One thing I have learned in my long and varied work history is the PEOPLE you work with are as important or more important than most other aspects. I have done some really crappy jobs, but if you love your coworkers it's doable.

Maybe workers want better work life balance?. EU gets 4 to 5 weeks minimum. US and Canada get almost nothing by globally mandated standards(2 weeks or 3 weeks max for most). Give people proper pto so they want to work hard to enjoy their time off!. Oh and try give them flexible work arrangements so they dont burn out commuting back and forth. We need to talk with coworkers, and build relationships, but we also need to prevent burnout. Good pto and flexible work arrangements are a good start. Workers are quitting burnout and cant live their lives either, they want to be treated humanely and do their dream while young or with family. Just my opinion.

After the pandemic, I've detested going back to work at the office because-
    1. I find corporate work culture very toxic. You're surrounded by passive aggressive people who don't understand boundaries.
    2. I'm able to give myself and my loved ones more time and care. I'm able to juggle things better from home.
    3. 90% of my work is done online, from a laptop and most interactions with people happen online. If their job has been getting done all this while, what is the problem?
    4. The whole commute/ travel time is saved and I'm more productive without worrying for all of that nonsense.
    5. I've been re-evaluating the entire corporate sector work culture, it has been detrimental to my mental health since I've been working here.

The old way is dying. We need to look at EU style benefits for employees now. They get 4 or 5 weeks minimum vacation straight off the bat, and excellent parental leave policies. At the end of the day, most people have jobs, because they need it, not like it. Giving them enough time off to travel when young and healthy, or older and with family to see relatives, is really the right thing to do, so people can live their life to the fullest(and be much more focused at work, because they dont want to lose their accumulated time off or have to work during it lol). Of course, employees are expected to complete their duties within their working week, but having said that, burnout is serious issue in north america, and asia that hurts not just employees, but companies, and their families. Poor treatment of employees also destroys any loyalty, or incentive for productivity. Why work harder when the only reward is more work, and no real time off to live one's dreams or see relatives or family? Its sort of sad we have come to this point. Having said that, I support hard work, but dont forget, employees have their own lives. Another is that companies need to embrace WFH, where it doesnt negatively affect productivity, and if they want people to come in, they need to take into account the time and cost of commuting..its basically time at work. There will always be people who love their job, but many of us just want to have an ok job where we are useful, and spend the rest of time with people we care for.

These are all things that sound so simple and yet people were desperately lacking them. Who wants to get on the highway and sit in their car for and hour or longer? People finally had a chance to sit at home or were forced to stay at home and could think for a more than a weekend about what truly is important. I worked as a customer service agent for 5 years doing night shifts from 9pm to 6am. I slept the whole day and rarely got to see the sun, interact with friends and family. Even during weekends the same thing would continue...I used to watch TV whole night while everyone is sleeping in my home. I put on weight, my eating habits changed. Now when I think about this, all this struggle is because some customer in the other side of the world hasn't received his package? There's no respect to life in 21st century world. It's all about earning, competition, comparison. How many people have the time and sensibility to enjoy a beautiful sunset and appreciate the life we are?

Village/small town lifestyle:- what I've learnt and experienced from quarantine and work from home in my village. The ailments in my body which i acquired after moving to city which were worsening before are curing on there own now. My asthma is getting better day by day just by breathing in Norma air. I realised how little it takes to live a happy healthy life with family. Quarterly bills are cheaper then eating at a good restaurant for one night.
While working, i can freely work on my hobbies while having lots of time to spend with family and kids. I missed the whole childhood of my childs... Now i am getting a to know my own family well.
