- After completing Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) and working with my Reserve unit, I thought I would make a video of the gear you will be issued in the Army. Also included the uniforms I use.

But I have a good amount of Army Gear from around 2002-2004. It’s all the stuff the Army didn’t ask for back, my dad gave it to me when he retired.
I have:
Two Duffel Bags
Two Rucksacks
Three M4 Mag pouches (each holds two)
Two M4 mag pouches (but these ones hold three mags)
One “Improved” First Aid kit (the kind that would be on a vest)
One Canteen/Multipurpose pouch
Two Canteens
Two Camelbacks (Bladder)
One Butt pouch (basically a fanny pack)
One Frag Grenade Pouch
One Flash-bang Pouch
One Compass & Pouch
One ACH Helmet (I’m missing a N.A.P.E. Pad, the Goggle Straps, and the NVG mount)
One pair of Goggles (Smoke and clear lenses)
Two MOLLE II Vests
3 combat shirts
2 uniforms
5 patrol caps
2 of the floppy wide brimmed hats (Not sure of proper term lol)
1 Pair of summer boots (that are 4 sizes to big, and are the only thing that doesn’t fit me well)
Some of the Patches I own (that my dad gave me are:
82nd Sustainment Brigade
519th Military Intelligence Battalion (Airborne)
525th Military Intelligence Brigade (Airborne)
He has been stationed in Korea, Afghanistan, and Kuwait
BTW my dad was a Lieutenant Colonel when he retired
The army didn't ask because they probably didn't know he had it, that or he bought it himself.

The tags on the sleep system are on the foot box of each component. I have the woodland camo Modular Sleep System. I love it, my favorite piece of gear.
Good through review, it is hard to imagine how one soldier can carry all those packs at one time.

El chaleco solo te lo dan cuando vas a entrenar o de mision. Cuando te vas de mision, tambien te dan nuevos uniformes, equipamento, mochilas, y chalecos en camuflaje multicam.

No. The ones are okay. I kinda regret getting rid of the only old duffel I had. No, I don't have the new one. Interestingly enough, the new soldiers in my unit get ussied the new multicam chest rig instead of the vest, but still get the ruckscak in the ucp pattern.

I got issued almost everything here. I bought the uniforms. I got issued some more gear in multicam, but I use my own gear I've bought. I'll make a video on them later this week or the next one.

It's a camelback water backpack with a tube that you strap onto your shoulder so you can drink without hassle

They don’t us OD green anymore. Last time they used it was like the 70s or 80s. After that everything went to desert camo and UCP. OG woodland from the 80s and 90s is way better than the “digital woodland marpat”

You can keep some, but not all. Shoes, socks, underwear shirts and pants belong to you. Maybe some balaclava masks and gloves as well.

Im USMC. My cif issue for a POG, not including personally "seabag issue" gear, amounts to $5k-$6k. My seabag issue (uniforms and required clothing) is around 1500 iirc.

Didn't get one issued. My unit doesn't have those. We still have the Iinterceptor Body Armor.

John Fitting Hype 33 is obviously bullshitting you. No, you have to turn this bullshit back in to CIF ("Central Issue Facility"). This shit is one of the *many things* you might come to hate about the Army/Marines. You will be issued this shit in those two branches *regardless* of what your MOS is (or the likelihood that you'll ever use any of it. I've talked to people in various MOS's who've told me they've been in the Army for 3 or so years and never yet had to use any of this shit outside of basic training), not only in basic and AIT but also when you get to your unit. I've seen a guy get really surprised that he still had to be issued this shit when he was a 68 E (dental specialist) and not an infantry 11 B. That's the Army/Marines. You may be forced to do PT with this gear. You have to bring this shit with you to the field (another thing that sucks ass about the Army/Marines for many reasons), and you have to do layouts with it. If anything happens to any of this shit, you're getting something called a "statement of charges" which is a fine. I've seen e5 Sergeants lose pieces of their infantry gear, so that tells you how easy it is for something to happen to any of this bullshit. This shit has no serial numbers on it so if it gets lost or *even stolen* (and yes that *does happen* because outside of Army posts there are stores that will buy and resell it), there's *no way to prove whom something was issued to* . This bullshit is one of the *many things* I tell people interested in the military to consider joining the Navy or the Air Force instead of the Army or Marines. The Navy and Air Force don't issue you this bullshit. I'll be *GLAD* to turn this shit back in for good when I'm done with the fucking Army, and I know I'm *NOT* the only one since I've seen lots of people who got out the Army who couldn't wait to turn this bullshit back in...

I'm guessing your unit budget was pretty low. Half this shit was outdated before I got out 9 years ago. I don't know your unit sop's, but I basically replaced all of my gear with private sector goodness. Always remember that DoD contracts go to the lowest bidder. AATW
Yeah, after a year of using this stuff, I just started using my own. Used a modified Tactical Assault Panel and an ALICE pack. I've only ever used the MOLLE ruck once. I did get new gear issued in 2019, but I only use the ACH and a pouch or two. SOPs? Yeah, there weren't any.
@@albmartinez314 hey thanks for the response brother. The first thing I got rid of was my pack. I don't know your unit or MOS but when I was in, I was doing a lot of humping up and down mountains in shitty places as a grunt, so a new pack was a must. I'd recommend the Tactical Tailor MALICE (modified Alice). Used it for years and still use it today for my more mundane adventures. Mystery Ranch also makes some great packs but I don't know how pertinent that might be in your line of work.
WtF this guy was issued this gear he says and even claims to have gotten a lot of several things. That is bull shit he doesn’t even know what the gear is and claims to be a LT. BTW look at the bottom of the sleeping bags. And the small one is a patrol bag the bing one is cold weather. To many screw up to point out all. But keep plugging. It shows why so many LT’s went missing in Vietnam.

Why I enlisted, I want to kick ass, see combat, make new relationships with people, and give back to my great country. Other people join for financial reasons and the free college and healthcare. Others join to further themselves in a certain field or occupation.

When you're out in the field, you have NO IDEA how long you might be out there if you're pinned down or can't move from your position because hostile contact has gravitated towards your area making it impossible for extract. All this shit you carry on your back is for your benefit. Trust me. The USA gives it's troops what it needs plus some.

How ignorant can you be? He's in the military none the less. He's gone through boot camp and BOLC (and probably AIT). It doesn't make him inferior to someone in the infantry. The military has many jobs and he happens to be a Reserve Military Police Platoon Leader.
